Emanuel “El Vaquero” Navarrete hopes to join an elite circle of his Mexican countrymen, but he’ll have to venture into a new weight class against one of its top contenders.
Navarrete will take on Ukraine’s Denys Berinchyk for the vacant WBO lightweight world championship on Saturday, May 18 at Pechanga Arena San Diego. The fighting pride of San Juan Zitlaltepec will attempt to join Mexican-born warriors Erik Morales, Jorge Arce, Juan Manuel Marquez, Leo Santa Cruz, and Canelo Alvarez in becoming a four-weight world champion.
In the welterweight co-feature, San Diego’s Giovani Santillan, the WBO No. 1 contender, returns in front of the hometown fans against an opponent to be named.

I know the French are way better than the English at football but I’m actually surprised how were not as good as them when it comes to boxing. It’s not like France hasn’t been in boxing in the past, we’ve produced champions as well but not even near the amount the UK has. As a Frenchman im disappointed

English footballers and boxers even tho you see blacks or pakis or arabs, majority are native english But in france if you Take africans out of france sport and what they have i dont see native french men being relevant in boxing football or any sport. Only french women represent france sport nowadays

Sad that on the biggest fight of the century Fury Usyk first heavyweight undisputed in almost 30 years. Top Rank hosted this useless fight the same day and wasting promotion on what should've been fully dedicated to Fury Usyk.
