I don’t really buy the idea that her father was manipulated. After all, he had far more life experience and had worked in law enforcement. He knew that people almost always tell their story in way where they are the blameless hero and 100% the “good guy”. He knew or should have known that her story was not so simple as “my evil ex is destroying my life for no reason.” I think he was the vengeful violent type. The sort of man who played the role of the hero but actually has far less noble intent. These men often find their way into law enforcement professions. Whereas most police, military, or security professionals are motivated by a desire to protect and serve, some are there because they can use power to hurt others and still receive the praise of society. They sign up not to serve but blend in.

The unsung hero in this case is Patrick. Not only did he turn down the hit job but he took the threat seriously and notified police. He had the common sense to realize that David was in danger. This may be off topic but I keep going back to the Nicole kessinger/Chris watts case. Even if Nicole had no involvement in the murders, she knew more than she was saying. She was not forthcoming with police when she supposedly still believed shanann and the girls were missing. If she had any suspicions that shanann and the girls were in danger she really needed to notify her and the police before Chris killed them. I sure would

Im surprised how many spouses and exs attempt to kill the other. Now ya sittin in jail when all you had to do was get a divorce or move on with your life. 🙄 scary that there's so many murderous ppl walking around every day.
