.NET 5 brings a lot of advantages for Windows desktop developers like self-contained EXEs that can be deployed side-by-side without having to have .NET installed machine-wide. This can make your company's Clickonce deployments and installations much easier. Come see the latest features and learn how you can leverage Azure to streamline your deployment process.

I followed the first part OK but I'm confused about the part about how to publish to my website. Previously with net framework 4.6.1 I was publishing to ftp my website but then it stopped working. So I'm upgrading to net 5 and trying again. Unfortunately Im not able to publish to my site with visUal studio. I have an ftp account with a password and I can get it working with fillezilla. But how to do this from visUal studio as I had before? The other thing that is different is a whole lot of .dll files in the publish folder. Before all that ended up in the versions ApplicationFiles folder. All that was in the top level was a setup.exe the webpage and a couple of other files. Hope you can help

Only thing missing is how to get the publish version from code, to display in f. ex. an about page, or in the header of the application :)

In this case when the install location is Azure blob storage, it means that all the installed files are being stored in Azure blob Storage and are NOT installed locally on user's machine? How is user then finding the application under "apps and features" and the icon? There must be some local instance to invoke the application, no?

Missing Azure Blob Setup in this because if you put the URL of azure blob so I don't think Click once direct publish to Azure storage. Any special permission required ?

Great question Iam also struggling with this. In this vid looks like it automatically published into azure blob container. But probably not

One thing I couldn't understand how those files were uploaded to blob storage from Visual Studio? What type of permission was given?

This guide clearly wrong. To download file and open manually, there are no need to use clickOnce, you can just place installer wherever you want on your web server. ClickOnce is needed to call packages installer from browser and install with one click and no need to download anything.
