Yeah I have to agree that he is one of my favs from beast machines, he has a flight mode, Ground mode (robot mode I guess) and sea mode, so he's an all around mean machine. His totall dedication on going after Rampage made him even more interesting!

I'm wondering if the "Shark Gun" is meant to be a Remora Gun. Remoras are known for latching onto rays for a mutual symbiotic relationship.

I had this one as a kid. Got it for Christmas and it was instantly my favorite. Sadly, being a kid, I lost all his little discs, missiles, and even his gun. Eventually, my dog got a hold of him and chewed up the tips of one of his wings

Depthcharge was my very first beast wars figure and come to think of it my first transformer. For a good portion of my childhood he went everywhere with me and i never let him out of my sight. Damn i miss beast wars even if the CGI was a little lacking it was a great series and come on robots that transformed into animals whats not to like. Beast wars deserves to be revived. I still remember the trauma of the first time i seen Depthcharge die in the series. It's was like a part of me died with him.

He's one of my favorites too. I plan on going back and re-watching the Beast Wars on Netflix. Never had any of the Beast Wars stuff although I enjoyed watching it whenever it came on.

I had this when I was young and never appreciated how well put together it was. and I lost all the discs and the missiles. then the gun. and as with most of my old transformers and other figures and toys, it was lost when I moved house. Hopefully someone found it and got good use out of it

My second favourite Maximal in the entire series after Rhinox and one of the best Transmetal toys too.

I never really connected it before now, but Depth Charge's vechicle mode vaguely resembles a TIE Fighter. Not completely mind you, but I could imagine him sneaking onto the Death Star in that mode.

I've always wanted Depth Charge and Rampage, they both look fantastic.

First, and I know you have heard this but, really beast machines this is not just a mistake of which series he’s from, but it’s also an insult. Second, a manta rays side fins are actually called wings.

Always found it weird that he had a Batman personality. Also,this guy was the Mantine of Beast Wars,in the fact that he has a fish under his fin. If anyone has played Pokemon,you would know what I'm talking about.

5:27 thats a very good gimmick for the hands. i got one purchased from Ebay recently. its an incomplete one, think the tail, disks and shark gun are missing but its not much of a concern. the pic showed the thruster hands but i didnt know the hands themselves were hidden behind them. i was thinking it was much like the 1:144 Gundam hand ball joints. i wonder if that tail really helps with stability? sometimes the Gundam front lean does the trick when heavy backpacks are involved. its a shame he had to sacrifice himself to stop rampage but the only other maximal death that hit me as hard was the Air razor/Tigertron saga.

They love to do black repaints of Transformers and correct me if I'm wrong but Kenner was the name on the packaging during Beast Wars, right? At the time Kenner also had the DC license, so why did they never do a black and silver repaint of this and make a con or whatever exclusive Black Manta crossover with this?

My dad got me the Depth Charge toy as a birthday gift when I was little and he was my favourite toy because of that. Unfortunately I was also a stupid kid, I broke his wings of because I hadn't seen a mantra ray as a kid before and I couldn't tell what was that animal, silly me 😅

Spader he isn't from Beast Machines. This guy was one of my Favourite figures when I was a kid I will have to go on ebay and try and get him again

Unfortunatly, Depth Charge was one of the worst Transformers figures I ever owned, keep in mind the one I had was a "Universe" re-release figure that had unnecisarily tight joints, didn't come with the tail/sword, had a bizzare paint job, no launchable discs, and, to top it all off, incomplete directions.

I wonder what Depth Charge would be like if he was in the Legacy/Kingdom series of Transformers.

i have this toy and whel of the beastwars stuff he is one of my favorites... i always thought though there was a "tank"mode to this figure.... because of you fold the wings you get that strange rounded shape on it which i always thought was a wheel , then if you put it upside down and fold the tail to the front it makes some sort of gun.... but i never seemed to figure it out... i think there is def a verhikel / car / tank thing in there because they al had it...

you can also fix his sword to his tail in robot mode to give him a nice way to tail whip, with the shark shot gun, and another arm drill thing flipped out, he looks more vicious

that gun is based of of a remora, a kind of fish that hangs around with manta rays and other large sea animals

i had this and the crab when i was younger, i loved them but they wer kinda meh compared to some of the smaller ones

Forget silly transformation for the wings for flight mode that looks straight up painful

so depth charge has shield generator, sword, shark shotgun, extra robot shields in robot mode, disc launcher vs: Rampage immortal with a triple missle cannon...galva conductors?....what the hell? depth charge has too many weapons, he doesn't know what to do with them all. he is basically a a disc launcher with arms and legs attached. I like his bell bottoms in robot mode though.
