Saw some people saying mage builds weren't possible. I disagreed
Build Details:
Graces:
Tsukuyomi 6pc + Omoikane 7pc
Weapons:
Zenki and Goki
Shugendo Hermit's Fists (rarely used, mostly just filling in the graces)
Armor:
Black Fox Mask
Courtier's Chest
Million Demon Hands
Ornate Gold Leggings
Million Demon Feet
At the time, all gear was level 200 between +101 and +107
Important skills on armor:
Onmyo Magic Power on all
Untouched Onmyo Magic inherited onto all
Advancing Storm Damage inherited onto all
Accessories:
Green Magatama x2, one with Set Bonus reduction starred on, the other with Sloth (Onmyo Magic Hit). All tempered with Onmyo Power, Untouched Onmyo, and Elemental Damage
Guardian Spirits:
Kuzunoha the Fox
Kagewani (secondary)
Soul Cores:
Ryomen Sukuna
Otakemaru
Inferno Oni-Bi
All cores have Yokai Ability Damage (All)

Lovely build and I think you do a great job running it too. Fists are a good choice if one wanted to add a bunch of flair to your movements during a fight because of the low stance dodge skill you can use as well.

Dual sword or tonfas have better s for low stance.

A spell called Luminous Blade ( nioh2.wiki.fextralife.com/Luminous+Blade+Talisman ). It's the only viable option for a non-elemental damage spell so you need it on a build like this for enemies that are immune to most or all of the elemental types. It's a rare drop from a boss in one of the DLCs, so you'll have to farm for it like you would for a weapon skill drop.

Probably they are casual and can't understand how powerful a mage is in Nioh 2.

Awesome build. What were your stats? I'm just starting the DLCs and wondering it taking specific stats to 200 makes more sense than 99 all stats.

Glad you like it! Can't remember exacts since it's been a while but the stats were: 200 Constitution 200 Courage 200 Magic 100 Stamina However much Strength is necessary to activate armor skills and/or reach B rank Agility if the Stamina wasn't enough on its own 20-30 Dexterity for Ninjutsu slots Any leftover stats into Heart Once you get to end game it starts being better to specialize your stats for your build specifically rather than keeping all stats the same, so past the first difficulty when you start getting into Divine/Ethereal gear try to aim for 200 in the things your build needs rather than generalizing.

@@reperfan4 Thanks! This helps as I move in to NG+. I completed first cycle with a ninjutsu build 60 Dex 30 Magic 20 Con 20 Skill and all other stats at base with Flying Kato. It was very glass cannony with an emphasis on the glass. Don’t think I ever had more than 80 toughness. Def want to experiment with something else for DLC and Underworld.

It's been a while since I've played the game so I can't remember the names of the specific pieces, but I played this recording on PS4 and so don't have the ability to use mods. All the gear I've refashioned to is in the game.

Lightning Shot, Water Shikigami, Explosive Shot, and Luminous Blade for actual attacking spells. Two of each of Firestop, Waterstop, and Lightningstop Talismans and three Archyokai Talismans for buffs. For Ninjutsu I only have Quick-Change Scrolls and some of the antidote pills.
