✅ Differential Pinion Bearings: amzn.to/3s0GOGG
The Cheetah has been down for a few weeks in need of repairs. Mainly being the front differential. It was time to bring it back to life! We had to replace the pinion bearings, pinion gear, and ring gear.
Also changed shock fluid, attempted to reinforce the body shell with our 5th method, then gave it a field test.

I put typon mega550 wheels on my jlb the thing is a beast for speed runs... I stopped bashing it due to it breaking to easily.

Nice! These backflip tires are also much better than the stock tires. Usually, as long as I have mostly decent landings, this thing lasts atleast half a battery pack before something I keep on stock breaks. First time it only made it a few minutes in 🤣. She performs in the air so well, it’s sad that it breaks so easily lol.

Note to self: do not use Hurculiner in side body shell!🤣 Well that didn’t go as planned , but I could hear it in your voice, that you weren’t surprised. Think this truck is made for speed runs. Maybe should turn it into a dragster er’ something . Nonetheless as always brother great video! If anyone can get this sorted out, you can!🤘🏻👊🏼👍🏻💯

Haha! No once I sprayed it on and saw that it didn’t seem to add any rigidity, the result wasn’t too surprising. Honestly I think it made it worse. My old cheetah shell never cracked like that after months of bashing, not just 4 minutes. This car is very fun to bash though. 😂 Flips on command and usually lands pretty nicely. Just have to keep a bit more inventory 🤣🤣

You should try Flex Seal for the body they say it is very strong so maybe that will work with bodies too

I swear to God my Cheetah must be a factory freak. I have had those arms twist 180 degrees multiple times and they still never broke. They're so flexible! I'm starting to wonder if they changed parts suppliers over the years and the compound varied. There are too many inconsistencies.

Mine have done that weird twisty thing a couple times too! It was also a bit cold that day which I’m sure didn’t help. I played that bad landing in slow motion and the suspension didn’t flex. Weird freak breakage. Could have already been cracked too. But you know this thing has taken crazy crashes from me and that relatively small jump did her in!

Another good idea would be prior to installing the upper and lower arm to give it hell with WD40 or AC90, which will give them some kind of elasticity but in your case when you are bashing...well I'm not so sure. But you can try it !!!😁
@DerbyCityRC
@DerbyCityRC 2 жыл бұрын
Haha! It may help a little bit. I did that with my 16889a, but the plastic on that is already pretty flexible. I think I will do that on the new arm before install. Thanks!! I’ll get you a link to those bearings 👍

Underrated channel! Great content man! I just ordered a roller version of this car and ordered a 120a KK Surpluss ESC and a Surpluss 4076 2000KV motor. Further i ordered the CVD Set EA1061 shafts. Im going to put a X6FG receiver in it. Can you recommend me some other this to do that are crucial? thx man!
@DerbyCityRC
@DerbyCityRC 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks I really appreciate that! Have you seen my other cheetah videos? The biggest thing that has been crucial to mine is the home made chassis brace and the upgraded front lower arm holders. Also the tires I’ve got on it are much better than the stock tires. I have parts linked in the description of those videos bud feel free to ask if you need a link to anything else. Thanks!

I just finished putting the front end of my cheetah back together and had that exact same front caster observation that you did. Glad it's not just my Cheetah! Are you going to try aluminum arms next? Thank you for all the Cheetah content. It is super helpful.
@DerbyCityRC
@DerbyCityRC 2 жыл бұрын
Definitely not just you! No, I’m definitely going to stick with the plastic arms. I’d rather an arm break than cause a bulkhead to break. That arm lasted through quite a bit of abuse. Thanks! Glad my content is helpful 😎

my shocks leaked after the first run and are completely empty…. any tips on preventing that or is it just bad shock quality
@DerbyCityRC
@DerbyCityRC Жыл бұрын
Did all 4 leak out? I haven’t had that issue and I’ve beat the crap out of mine. Everything else breaks but I don’t recall a single shock issue except for maybe the bottom end mounts (been a while since I’ve run mine, it just breaks too easily lol). The oil in them is way too thin. Probably needs 80-100 wt if you’re gonna do jumps but if it all leaks out, that won’t work lol. I guess it’s just bad shock quality cuz unless a seal is broken or missing, you can’t do much to fix it.
