Hi Dereck! Thanks for your react on Ricchi E Poveri. This song "Sarà Perchè Ti Amo" was released in 1981 and sold over a million copies, ranked no.1 and was 8th in sales in 1981. It is one of the greatest successes of the trio composed of Franco Gatti, Angela Brambati and Angelo Sotgiu, Marina Occhiena having left the group following a conflict with Angela and embarking on a solo career thereafter. The song was presented at the famous San Remo Festival for its 31st edition where it finished fifth. Even a Spanish version entitled "Sera Porque Te Amo" will be recorded and will appear on the album: Me Enamoro De Ti. The lyrics of this version were written by Luis Gòmez Escolar. In France, the female singer Karen Cheryl will cover in French this title the same year entitled "Les Nouveaux Romantiques" (The New Romantics) with success, the record will sell 402,000 copies, ranked no.1 and becomes 27th in sales for the year 1981.😉 Their follow up in 1982 is "made In Italy" but unfortunately it was a flop! Karen Cheryl covered it also in French "Oh Chéri Chéri... (Dam Dam Dam)/Oh Darling Darling...
