One of the very finest actors of my lifetime. A true privilege to watch him do his work.

I was lucky enough to see Jacobi in NYC in this RSC play along with Cyrano. He was so friendly and kind. I got his autograph as well as Sinead Cusack's. I also saw Redgrave and Harrison in Aren't We All. I LOVE NYC!!! No other place like it!

I’ve seen him in “Cyrano”, “Hamlet”, “Breaking the Code”, and “Don Carlo”. He is a living legend-one of the last.

I saw him four times in 'Much Ado About Nothing', and believe me when I say that he deserved this Tony very much. (I saw John Lithgow that year too, and he was great, but Derek was better.) In fact, the only performance that year that might have been better was Derek Jacobi as Cyrano in Cyrano deBergerac, as the Royal Shakespeare Company was showing the two plays in repertory. (I saw him four times in that play as well!)

I'm in awe of his stamina, doing both of those roles in rep. Yours as an audience member is not bad either. I was sad to hear that he is now retired from the stage after his recent Mercutio (well into his eighties).

Derek Jacobi is a wonderful multi-faceted actor. I hope he receives many more awards for his outstanding talent.

+Renetta Yorka Oh, he has, though most of them are British and make little impression on the American public (though a massive impression on the American theatre establishment). Take a look at his bio on any of a plethora of websites that you can find with a simple Google® search.

Thank you. I know him best in "Last Tango". Nice to know he has received a number of other awards along the way. He's a fine actor and seems like a kind and humble person. I think he and Anne Reid are very well cast together. Have a nice day.

Who would guessed those totally normal and charming people should be raving mad lunatics a few decades later?

Why is Rex even there? So stupid, and it happens more than you think. Lynn you need him to announce the winner.

They told her to do that. He had real trouble reading cards at that point.

And Jacobi didn't even acknowledge Harrison was there.
