I feel you’re pain. My wife and I looked at 10-20 houses during the height of the pandemic and it was rough. There weren’t any good houses with two car garages and decent property space up north. We qualified for 3.5% but at the end of our search it was over 7%. We ended up with a one floor ranch with single car garage. It’s better than nothing you know.

My neighbor just put his house up for sale in Goochland. 3 mins from 64 and maybe 15-20 min from the west end. 1.5 acres. 2 car garage though. You’d have the third quickest car in the neighborhood 😎

Interesting that my wife and I are one month out from starting this same adventure here in Texas. Three car garage and a small shop of all possible is our goal as well! DerekBaranProductions. About the shop. They typically don't seal the bottom of the metal frame. So when it rains and lands on the footings that Romina was standing on. The rain will go between the wavey concrete and the metal frame. Just to let you know. Don't be afraid of the water. You can seal that. Good Luck.

Proud of you man! Excited to see the house hunting journey and praying you land the perfect house. One time on a instagram live I think it was a year or 2 ago. The whole chat was about education system/ jobs nowadays. I commented how I was thinking about starting my automotive photography business (at the time was just a hobby.) You told me to go for it. Now this past Christmas I decided to purchase my dream camera (Sony A7IV). I live somewhere that snows so this spring I’ll officially be going for it. Currently going to college for Cyber security, but hopefully I can do what my passion is for a living. Thank you for doing what you do and hopefully I can take some shots of the cars one day.

Good luck on the house hunt. First time commenting, but watching for years. I'll say this, no house is perfect, only perfect for YOU guys. It'll be a fun process and frustrating at times, but you'll know. My advice: - If you want renovations, be happy with it from the start, no other upgrades. Life happens, and sometimes you may not get to a project for months or YEARS down the line. - The market is the market, it's going to go...regardless of who is in office, what laws are being passed, etc. If you're in a position to buy and can -- do it. - Get a GREAT inspector. Take notes, measuring tape, lists and anything else you need to make your decision to each open house, this is a HUGE buy. You guys will find something.

A 35x35 garage/shop with insulation & electrical with the concrete could easily get into 6 figures. I’ve been looking into building a similar size for a multi-purpose building for once we get horses and it’s going to be a significant chunk of change.

Good job not rushing into it man and wanting the first house you look at. I can tell you from experience tho your almost better off to stretch the budget little bit (not an unrealist number) but end up with a house your extremely happy with and love, and one that already has a decent garage and all that stuff worked into the mortgage price. Building your own shop will end up being way more than you expect by the time its all done, finshed, concrete floors, electric, insulated etc. Good luck tho man just take your time and the right thing will pop up for you guys. Neither one should have to “settle” when you find right one you will both know

Move out to country of Virginia with land Winchester, Culpeper, Shenandoah, Gainesville, or Warrenton. Theres still other parts of Va but those are some decent places with land.

For the pole barns usually the leaks happen from the doors not sealing properly. The big shop i work at does tractors and stuff, the only leaks weve ever had are door related. The metal roofs dont tend to leak because of how they overlap the metal. I used to build pole barns with the amish, the only possible cause of a metal roof leak is a hole.

Same problem with my 19 active exhaust. It’s your driver side wiring harness.. it’s shorting out. Because it’s pinching it on the weld back by exhaust. Check it out I guarantee that’s what it is. Cut a little more off your x pipe and push your whole exhaust towards the engine and this won’t happen anymore.

A house like that here in SoCal would be over million pretty much anywhere.min some places 1.5…When my son was in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk we liked Va and always thought about moving…couldn’t do the weather though.

When it comes to the house, just make sure she’s happy is what counts Another think you could do is just buy land and then have a company come out and build you a metal house, I can’t remember the term, but the people that build shops, they also build houses out of the same material, kinda like a barndominium, you can make your own floor plan, it’s a good option and it would be all new

same thing happened to mine with the actuators it seems to happen after you install longtubes, it pushes the rest of the exhaust back and the wires get rubbed up against the car and it start throwing off the actuators :D

If you do that the 10 foot permit thing will be equivalent to throwing a deck chair off the titanic. 6.5 percent is still not horrible if you compare to the late 70’s early 80’s when they were 12 percent. Whatever you do, do not get a house in an HOA. You do not want to deal with that nonsense with the cars. Not to mention if you ever want to upgrade a garage or addon or something you have to jump through hoops to get it approved through the HOA and they can deny your request for any reason. Good luck finding what you are looking for. I searched for a long time to find the perfect garage setup for me with a 2 post lift and the correct size for the cars. Keep in mind if its meant to be it will happen. Don't get frustrated if something falls through because something better could be coming around the corner.
