Glad to see a 3V on here. My 06' 3V is my baby and I never thought that I would like a 3V over a Corvette. It has really opened my eye to what I call a newer Mustang. Very happy with mine

Congratulations to your bud for buying his first 3V. I got mine for the first time last year. Super excited to have an 07 3V. Your boy's gonna love it.

I have an 06 GT Auto. Some things to keep an eye on. The crossover tube under the intake will eventually leak. The oil filter housing gasket (which is also where a hose from the radiator goes) will leak. The diff pinion shaft seal will leak. Spark plugs on an 05 are gonna be a pain. They are 2 piece and will break. Stay with stock coils. Ball joints suck on 1st gen S197's. Struts and shocks eventually will wear out. Cam phasers and chain guides wear out and break. I'm glad to see this model year on here. So many parts and manufacturers for it. Best bolt ons are: exhaust, get an X pipe with it. Longtubes make the most gains. Shorties really don't do much. Cams will help. Best bang is gears. I'd go 3.73 with manual. Maybe 4.10's. Best mod for a 3 valve is boost. Whether it be screw type, centrifugal, or turbo. Nothing compares to boost on a 3 valve. If you have any questions ask me. I've done it all to mine. Just got done installing a 1 piece driveshaft. I even installed carbon clutches in my diff. Can't wait to see this 05 get built. Please show it all. My favorite body is the 1st gen S197.

Brings back memories when I got mine in 2007 at 15k miles. Fast forward today, still running strong and hard as a daily driver. 176k miles. 2005 Mustang GT convertible Premium, Shaker 1000, black paint with red interior. Still turns heads with the top down. 🔥

For the door insert panels, use screen door string to put the edge all the way back in, use the tool for screens, it worked great on my 09

Enjoy it, bro. I have an '06 GT with all bolt ons, making 376hp. You'll get crap about the 3 valve making no power but those engines are bullet proof and they were powerful for their time 05 to 09.

And here I thought I found the only new S-197 left. I just bought a one owner '07 GT with 15K miles. It was in the same shape, and garage kept. Congratulations on the find, and enjoy that little 3 valve. BTW, the owner paid to have the panels replaced. Ford did a chitty job on those things.

bro i literally just bought a low milage one off an older guy same color. mine had hurst tho but same thing. he will love it. 3v is the hardest clutch ive ever tried to learn and the hurst short throw really registers you are in fact in gear. but its so tight and stiff. you are either in gear or you are in neutral. kinda like it kinda dont. guy sold it cause long story short he couldnt shift it anymore and i see why. clutch is heavy and i cant feel it grab it just goes on or off like no play room. you will love the car. also i got a similar wheel setup, you will not hook in the rain. hillstarts in the rain just turn tc off. because you either chirp or roll back on water. or it kills it in the middle of an intersection. also you will be pissed when you realize you cannot find aftermarket cupholder lights. also watch cows at night.

I fw Micah(hopefully that’s how you spell it) he’s funny. Bring him on the channel more bro. This was a good purchase. It’s hard to find an ‘05 to ‘09 S197 with that kind of mileage in that kind of condition. Love the content DB.💯

Love my 06 GT got it in 2019 for 12 grand with a 4 year warranty and it was a local trade also owned by an old couple. Only had 23,534 miles when I got it ! 62k miles now.

Good ole 3v my first and only mustang i still love it but i have abandonment it. I got into motorcycles last year. I wish i got it in a manual tho. Happy to see 3v love on the channel and it definitely needs a front lip.

Got my satin sliver 3v two years ago with 40k on the dash off-road H pipe with K&N CAI with mickey Thompson street comps for just over 11k couple older gentlemen had it garage kept almost entirely. Beem am awesome car just hit 60k on the dash before fall can't wait for spring. Silver Sally's are the best

Still not sure why 3v are looked down on. The 4.6s are supposed to be much better than the 5.4s, and it's an extra 50hp over the 2v right out of the gate.
