Totally agree. Many youtubers look flawless and great but never do close ups. There is a youtuber in my city and she always looks amazing on her videos. The other day I saw her at the store and her makeup looked like a mask, cakey and pasty. I love reviews like this, honest. Some youtubers are more concerned to look beautiful in the video than giving us a real picture.

I have cystic acne and your channel has not only made me feel like I'm not the only girl who loves makeup but has trouble fighting with acne. But has saved me hundreds of dollars because the foundation you try out I debate on getting and if it doesn't work it's such a relief I didn't spend that kind of money! Dermablend is an oil based foundation and needs an oil based primer. Also it is supposed to be set with their setting powder. Much better results that way.

this foundation won't work unless you set it with their powder, its the only way to lock it in. Maybe try getting the translucent and giving it another chance because I enjoy this foundation and I have a lot of acne and scarring.

I just got dermablend and it looks so awful on me? I use a beauty blender set with translucent powder anyways i moisturize i use primer it doesn't stay on my nose either. It looks like a greasy cakey mess

I have been wearing this in Chroma 0 as concealer with Undercover Green since 17, I'm 42 now. it is the lightest shade. It's practically white. BUT you have to dilute it and warm it up with powder or bronzer. One jar lasts me around 2 years. If you scoop some out with your spatula, then warm it in your palm and apply from the warm palm to the face with a damp beauty blender, it gives realistic looking natural full coverage and avoids the cake-y look. And, you will use half as much. A moisturizer that works well with this, believe it or not, is Olay 7 Effects. I tried them all. Olay doesn't irritate cystic acne and creates a perfect canvas for applying thicker foundations that are drying. This was a foundation created especially for textured scarring. I don't think you have enough flaws to warrant a product like Dermablend, but it will cover anything from scars to dark tattoos. The idea is, the lighter the skin (and foundation) in color, the less flaws will show (sort of like body work on a car.) On a car, dents don't show up as much on a lighter paint shade as they do on a dark colored car. This is why the 1st 2 shades of Dermablend exist. I loved your review on the Marc Jacobs. I think I'll try it in comparison to Dermablend.

That is one thick foundation! They are doing so much now with higher pigment % in foundations giving increased coverage that it doesn't really seem necessary, even when people have things they really want to cover. Really enjoying the series - especially as a pale gal!

i used to use this as a concealer instead of a foundation, back when i had really bad cyst acne too. try using it as a concealer, i find its better in smaller areas.

Ashlee Lynn I’ve been using it for several weeks now and it’s great! I wear it for my 13 hour work shifts and it holds up well. I’m VERY oily and this foundation helps a lot! Better than Two Faced Peach Perfect Matte Foundation. I still recommend a good mattifying primer. #allnighter

I love how honest you are with your subscribers. If you don't like something your just tell us and save some of us the hassle of trying something that may not work depending on our skin Etc. So I thank you for that because I know a lot of you tubers who try to find the best in every product and not every product works for everyone. But I love this concept of 15 days of foundation! Plus I don't think this foundation looked good, just too cakey like you said and looks too hard to blend. But maybe it will might work for oily types. But all in all I love your videos and thank you for staying real to all of us 😘😍❤️ love you

I totally agree with your review. Dermablend cover creme was my go-to when my skin was more hormonal. While it can look flawless, it takes forever to apply evenly because it does look patchy and thick unless you use your fingers to blend every little bit, like you said. I have also tried their Indulgence concealer, and while that is much easier to apply it doesn't have the full coverage like the creme. I've been curious about their liquid foundations but I'm not impressed enough by their other products to try it. Thanks you for this series!

I don't like dermablend as an all over foundation, but I have tons of hyper pigmentation that spreads across both cheeks, and this is the only thing that cover it. so I use a base foundation, and just put the dermablend over my cheek areas for the days I want to look flawless

So appreciate you doing this to your poor face for us!! With foundations like this and the Kat Von D one, I like to mix a primer with it and make the texture better then blend out with a Beauty Blender. I mix the Kat Von D foundation with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter and it turns out sooo pretty, otherwise it looks too heavy and separates on me.

i'm glad to see that i'm not the only one who didn't like the dermablend foundation. as a very acne prone person who wants really full coverage i was looking forward to trying this foundation and saw it had really good reviews on sephora's website, so i got a sample. it was so hard to blend out and it broke up and got patchy on me like crazy. it was also so thick and heavy it felt like i was wearing a mask. it wipes off like immediately especially when i blew my nose so no it is not smudge or transfer resistant at all. it's always reassuring to know when another person didn't like the foundation either because then i know i didn't do anything wrong with applying it or whatever. i think i will try their powder foundation formula though.

I have this foundation because I really want something full coverage. I got discouraged because it settled into pores and caked up really bad. I'm a ginger pale princess and have yellow undertones around my eyes but pink everywhere else. So seeing you had the same issues was oddly encouraging also hearing you talk about other full coverage that looked flawless gives me hope.

Have you tried the liquid formula of dermablend? It is actually my holy grail. I have combo, acne prone skin, and it looks amazing. I would recommend giving that one a go. I didn't like this one either.

Yeah I definitely feel like there's a full coverage drugstore foundation alternative to Dermablend, even though they are a great company for people with skin issues they'd like to cover up. This cover cream is more meant for spot concealing, for example tattoos, birthmarks etc. Dermablend has a great liquid foundation for all over the face.

I cannot imagine using this thick product as a foundation, but I suppose I’m lucky to have nothing to cover up. I originally bought it when I was a dancer, because it covers bruises really well, and it also does a decent job covering tattoos. However, somewhere along the line, I found out that it makes an excellent eyeshadow primer, so that is mainly how I use it. It’s also great that it has SPF, because that means even more protection for the eye area. I haven’t watched any of your other videos, so don’t know what you use, but one thing I have learned about breakouts is that for me, they are usually caused by or exacerbated by products that contain fragrance.

I don't like to use the cover creme as foundation personally but it definitely has a learning curve to use it and I don't think people want to [learn to use it] since there are so many other options out there. Also I think using dermablends setting powder is important. Most of the time things work better if you use the companion products. I really believe that's why it wore off. There is a new dermablend foundation called blurring mousse as well as the liquid camo that other people suggested. I have all 3 of those foundations by the way.

I'm glad I saw this review. I was just getting ready to purchase this product (for vitiligo). I mean, I do have some liquid foundation (Dermablend) but it makes my skin look the same as what you pointed out with the dry and patchy and spotty look. I honestly thought it was just me, or that I was putting it on wrong. But when you did the closeups, I felt like YEP, that's totally what my skin is looking like, and it looks so heavy. Doesn't feel clean. Tough when I need a full coverage too! Thanks! XX

I've always heard hype about this product but I've seen you use so many better foundations. I'd love to see you review one of those "as seen on Facebook" mineral foundations. I dunno if anyone else knows what I'm talking about here, but they're always in my feed and the videos always seem to have someone who applies it that has a bunch of redness or acne and it looks amazing. I've never tried one, I generally go for drug store or the usual prestige brand. I'd love to see you test them, Taylor.

❤Ur vids, slow paced, honest. I am fair skinned redhead. Went to an allergy doctor. Had blood test for allergies. Dairy intolerance. Avoid dairy complexion cleared up. If your having break out check for allergies.

I think you should try the Estee Lauder Maximum coverage foundation. It's incredible and it's waterproof! Not light enough but mixed with a white foundation (i use the Makeup Atelier waterproof foundation in white) is perfect.

Would you try another foundation from Dermablend? :) I'd like to see their Liquid Camoflauge foundation (or their Leg & Body foundation) - they're both medium to high coverage foundations and my Dermablend rep (my store carries Dermablend) always recommends those for the face as opposed to the cover creme. She always only recommends the cover creme for spots or for more serious buildable tattoo coverage but since it's harder to blend out she likes the other two better... this of course, could just be in her opinion but some food for thought!

She also recommends the Dermablend translucent powder because it works with the foundation together because that's what makes it more water resistant, transfer proof, and smudge proof :)

I have this foundation in w40 and omg is the best ... full coverage and very light weight and last all day long on my face without failing me at allllo
