Thank you for all of your great content! I suffer from body hyperpigmentation and I don't hear anyone talking about this so thank you!! I have some video topic ideas that I don't see anyone doing, but I'd love to see: rating sunscreens based on how fast and how much they dry down (for those of us that wear glasses - you know what I'm talking about!), using one mineral sunscreen to start the day but then reapplying with a different mineral sunscreen later (say if you have one you like to start the day with and one to keep in your bag), trying different setting sprays over mineral sunscreens, and definitely more videos about tinted sunscreen and foundation pairings.

In my opinion, you are the best Dermatologist influencer! I watched a few other videos to try to get to the bottom of underarm hyperpigmentation and didn’t get valuable information but then I found this video which of course was extremely thorough and now I know exactly what to do. Thank you so much! You can tell you take your time making these videos. Side note, the Banana Boat sunscreen is a family favorite thanks to you! I looove how non-greasy it is!

For PIH/hypertrophic scars or keloids, she’s right in trying Tretinoin and hydroquinone first. Not working? Then corticosteroids cream or injections, several cycles. All the above creams with dermarollers. Lastly, and most expensive, lasers.

I will definitely be trying to kojic soap and the AHA deodorant. I used Musely and it worked for me in the armpit area but after six months it didn't get any lighter but did help significantly.

Great video!! Could you do a video on eczema and products you recommend for keeping it under control? Especially stuff that doesn't burn when applying it! My eczema flares are usually in the winter and I have tried so many products and I usually am disappointed because they don't work or they burn like crazy, so I would love to hear your recommendations! I just recently bought the Prequel Skin Utility ointment and the Gleanser and I'm so excited to try them! Thanks!

You’re the first doctor I’ve seen/heard mention “Glytone”. Their KP line is the goat! I’ve dealt with KP for over 20 years and Glytone is is the only product that gets my skin baby soft and within a week or two. I haven’t had any luck with the hyperpigmentation but I plan to incorporate the kojic acid and/or differin to see if that combo will heed better results. Thanks for such an informative video with updated recommendations. I say that because almost everyone speaks on Amlactin and it’s been the least effective brand for KP, imho.

I got a burn from a yag laser and it hasnt gotten better yet in six months. Is there an ingredient that works best for lasers? I had it for spider veins which did not work and left me with more hyperpigmentation. So disappointed.

HI, I´d like to ask you Dr, Ellis, I went to the beauty salon to remove my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation around my nipples because I underwent a surgical intervention at the clinic - reduction of my breast. At the beauty salon they used Q Swithch ND YAG laser and results were worse, I regret it because the laser left behind much darker hyperpigmentation that I had before. How can I reduce it? I realized that I am 1% of people that have side effects of having the opposite effect after being treated with the laser. At the beauty salon they didn´t warn me about the side effects. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Incredibly helpful video Dr. Ellis, thank you! 😁 Getting rid of hyperpigation requires a lot consistency and patience. I've been using a serum that was recommended by No BS Beauty on KZfaq called "Regimen Labs Level Serum". It's been really great so far! It has 5% Niacinamide as one of the first ingredients, 3% Tranexamic Acid, 2% Alpha Arbutin, and 2% Undecoylenoyl Phenylalanine, which fights the look of spots.

Hi! I recently stumbled on your channel and was wondering what is your opinion on “medical grade” products which you don’t need a prescription to purchase. This would be a brand like Obagi. Are these products worth the money especially over accesible brands which can be found at CVS or Sephora? Thank you!

I friend of mine who is naturally tan but also spends every summer day laying out in the sun with minimal protection, has tiny white spots in a few areas of the body. I don´t know the diagnosis but she said the derm told her to go to a tanning bed to treat it ???? I don´t kkow if the dermatologist is just a disasrter, if my friend didn't understand, or if i'm missing something here
