I feel like if Ghost Train is successful, which it probably will be, it will prove to Merlin that dark rides can be profitable and more effort will be put into non rollercoasters and theming. This is actually incredibly exciting

Why did 136 people dislike this, having just been on it, it's really nice to be able to hear someone else's opinons and hear about what they picked up on. (I am a theme park fan and a Derren Brown fan, just before I got on the second vr part of the train I noticed that there was a "Trick or Treat" easter egg/poster on the wall, did you? Not many people did...)

Finally managed to get on this ride yesterday and WOW! I'm a big fan of Derren and I was very impressed. Me and my friends all saw something different and really enjoyed discussing what we saw. Very cleverly done.

The story changes between 3 storylines so you might not get the same as these two. Edit: I recently went on the ride and found it rather disappointing. Full of cheap jumpscares with no real build up of tension.

A few questions if I can! 1) What did you think of the actual VR? Is the picture any good? I've only used VR once at Comic Con and the picture was very blurry and kinda hard to see. 2) When you exit the first train is the whole area themed like the underground? Just curious plus maybe your theory is correct but instead there is only one train that moves around to the second point. 3) I know it's only a soft opening but did the queue move well it was it slow? 4) What the heck is up with that creepy infection zone?

They're constantly making improvements to the ride. There's been more and more actors every time I've been on it.

I've listened to the soundtrack to Derren Brown's Ghost Train, the best part is near the begining of the music, really intense. I've also watched a bit of his tv show 'Trick of the Mind'. He's really good with people.

You were pretty much spot on about how the train works. You can see black brushes covering the gaps between the Victorian shell and Underground train. I thought there was only one train going back and forth with good timing, but it was hard to tell so you could be right. (I waited until I rode it before watching this which is why this comment is so late. Also I thought it was a great ride for Thorpe :P)

SHAWN!!! I rode it the day after you rode it and before this video was out! They made improvements over the space of one day then :D there was a another scene in the first bit and it is the best bit!!! cannot wait to ride it again and this video was great!!!

Went on this today! opened at 12.. queued up since 11! waited a total of 2 hours! soooo worth it! I had the old lady! The queue when we came off was 180 minutes!! but it is school trip week! Thanks for your videos and vlogs.. they keep me very entertained.... This is now my favourite non-roller coaster attraction in the uk!

I love so much about this ride. I love the illusion of the train turning from a victorian carriage to a london underground (even though most people don't notice), I love the live action section, the theming is great and the shop at the end is one of the best things I have experienced at a park. I still think the VR needs to be improved though.

Might have to ride this with glasses clipped to my tshirt so i can see in between segments as my sight is really bad without them

I've got a signed photo of Derren Brown. I emailed him when he first came on to the telly years ago, so he was good enough to send me a signed photo. The ride looks well done. I wouldn't mind one of his souvenir ghost trains. I would pick up the better one if I had the chance.

I think your Vlog got sabotaged a few times. Finally did the Ghost Train recently. Thought it was a very good ride and one of Merlin's best things they've done. I still think there's room for improvement but still one of my favourite rides at the park.

I went on it twice last time I went to Thorpe Park, and thought it was a bit of a let down. The only reason I went on it the second time was because the first time, the VR headsets conked out for second part of the ride

This is a great ride, probably my favourite ride in the UK. One problem with this ride is it relies on immersion, which is good, but people are shouting, talking and being rowdy, and worsening the experience. When I went on it during a soft opening, the people on the ride respected the ride and respected the other people on the ride, and their experiences, but on a normal day, people were being rowdy. Also a problem is we were taken in the chamber with carriage too early, so we saw people getting off and also the doors were opened early by the staff, but hopefully as they get more used to the ride, it will improve.
