Kenny got upset because Derrick told Shawn to come over there with them. Any trainer gets pissed at that sh*t, especially if the trainer is the opposing fighter's dad. Trainers hate when someone tries to steal their fighter, even in the amateurs. Derrick also said a few other things that pissed Kenny off.

People need to understand most fights are two guys showing out but knowing they're not gonna do shit! That's what society's use to seeing, but that's not how people in or around this sport are! Not trying to show out and shit, but we're about that life, it's second nature with us! Once in range it's a matter of who gets off first! The average person will say "can you believe these vatos started throwing down?" where as with us its more like "can you believe neither one of them did shit!" just trying to keep it real.

So Derrick james came back and said he not a good trainer and the way he talk to his son is not right and how he don’t treat shawn like a Man and etc. So Kenny approached D James about it and they had a few words 👌

I saw the video. He didn’t check him but he confronted him like a man. DJ stood his ground until it started escalating and team porter started to separate them. Kenny instigated it basically taking credit for the Kell Brook fight against Spence. Claiming that EJ was looking at kenny for instructions... Like DJ said, “what sense does that make?! How you gonna tell him what to do but didn’t tell your son to do it?!” Then claiming to coach EJ which DJ and EJ both claimed was partially true in the Olympics. So DJ took it personal and called him out as a dad treating his son like trash. It’s true though. Watch the interviews and vids. Kenny does treat him like some kid. Im a dad. I know when to let my child do them and when to step in. He clouds shawn and after all was recently said, if shawn loses, their relationship will be messed up after this.

To all of you who are not caught up on what happened, I will explain. Derrick addressed Kenny in a video saying that, despite being Shawn’s father, he’s an employee of Shawn and should stay in his place. He further stated: “To all you fighters out there, who don't wanna be on a boxing label where the trainer's...all up in the videos, all on the records, dancin'...then come to Death Row!” So kenny checked him on it face to face, telling him to keep it about the boxing. Now James has lost the original energy he had when he was slamming Kenny. Now he wants to take the high road.
