Descending Mt. Everest

Күн бұрынI let my GoPro roll on my descent from the top of the world as I returned back to Camp III at 8,300 meters (27,000 feet) on the Tibet side. I had a bit of memory loss on the summit but felt fine physically. At the end of the video you can barely see the yellow tents at Camp III.

Great. You can see how knarley this would get in a whiteout. Hat's off to the guys that used to climb without hand rails.

How hard was it coming back down? I always hear it’s the descent that is more harder than going up.

Sorry for the very late reply :) It's much easier going down than up of course, but generally most accidents happen because you're mentally and physically trashed. I rappelled down the third step without a prusik and nearly fell off because I was so tired.

When you see the 'lines' these are extreme moments that happen one day a year. I did Everest on both sides and both experiences I was usually alone.

I remember my Everest decent this May, thinking," I'M TOO FREAKING HIGH!" But I'd just smoked a dab and was on my kids bunkbed ....I got off that mountain but it was a cliff hanger!
