I'm a retired geologist. Copper ore is my favorite. Love the greens and blues. I have collected dozens of small specimens for many years. So this video is very pleasing to me. I have explored what is now the Mojave Preserve since 1964.

did you stop at Rosalie before you headed up there ....love the underground houses for the workers there and the massive slag piles .... beautiful shot of Cima dome ....the road use to be good tears ago but now its a no go ..... fun explore and love seeing some rail left behind and the winze looked to be in good shape ....the other mine you pointed to has a Cabin ( use to ) but the mine dump ....we use to go up there all the time and have VHS of it with a wood stove in it ....the mine had a Adit that ties in with a steep incline ....should be fun ....be safe out there and we smashed that like button real good like

The blue and green are awesome - looks like a lot of copper is still in the veins. Beautiful Malachite, azurite and chrysocolla !!!

Think of the amount of man hours to haul out all that debris, and how much did they pull out in dollars? Possible enough to breakeven.

That turquoise rock is NOT copper exactly...Copper is greenish, called malachite...That turquoise is a different mineral with perhaps some copper in it. blue copper is called azurite.

how do you do your research to find these places?

The money is not at the copper mine for a small prospector. You have to find the slag piles where they smelted the ore. You see the smelters ran at 2500 degrees. Chalco-pyrite contains copper, silver, and gold and that can be extracted by smelting. But the Chromite, titanium, and most important the platinum group cannot!!! 2500 degrees won't even get platinum warm so it went into the slag!!!! So the slag piles are rich in platinum and palladium!!! Copper ore is worthless to a single prospector as it is only $3 a pound. If your going to a copper mine look for the slag!!!! We grind the slag to powder (and you better have something north of grade 8 grinders) and you can litterally extract the platinum with N42 super magnents as platinum is paramagnetic but a N52 will lift it. Then hit the collected powder with nitric to remove the ferrite. When you get 2 or 3 ounces it's off the the platinum smelter as your not going to have much luck making a 5000 degree fire yourself ;)

All this naive "solo" exploring is frustrating to watch...why not next time you venture into known mineralized abandoned mining areas bring along a geologist, or mineralogist and have them do the narration with some knowledge of what is being videoed. This would make for much more interesting, and informative! videos...who knows, you might even substantially increase your subscribers. Otherwise your occasional unacknowledged "that's interesting" comments are frustrating.
