Design and Analysis of Grade Beam:
This video wil enlighten the viewers on when and why we need this structural element as part of the system. It demonstrate the necessities in some cases where vertical element like column might subject to slenders without having a horizontal support particularly GB below groung level.
As part of this presentation, the viwer will be advised about important loadings that needs to be considered in designing Grade Beam.

Hi Engr, thank you for the information. I have question lang po regarding connection ng grade beam, how can we properly anchor the reinforcement of grade beam to the column if grade beam rebar is placed outside pa po ng vertical bars ng column? Assuming grade beam is intended for additional bracing ng columns and not for settlement.

Mas okay po ata if nasa loob sya ng column then through rebar cranking na lang along the grade beam para masunod pa rin po yung sizes ng beam.

@@clutchplays4116 yes you can figure out which one would work. But normally what I do is, increase column size starting from top of gb all the way down to footing, same size na gb and col. Good question, thanks!

good day po sir.. may tanung lng po ako.. ok na po ba sa 2storey na bahay yong 6 na 12mm na bakal sa mga poste? bali 6.5mX8.5m po ung laki ng bahay..bali ung poste po lahat ay 11 na poste na my foating din po at my sukat po 20x40cm bawat poste. meron din pong wall foating tie beam. at my distance na 2.5m, 3m to 4m po ung mga poste.. sa mixing nman po ng concrete ay 1.2.3.. sana po masagot po ninyo ung tanung ko po.. salamat po..

Good day sir. Kung suspended yung ground floor slab, paano usually ang ginagamit na formworks para sa grade beams kung monolithic ang slab at beams? Thank u

Side formworks only on grade beam, both bottom of slab and gb rest on compacted backfill. Thanks

You need to find out the cause of crack, if that is due to over load, I suggest to add vertical support anywhere along beam span If possible, but you should treat the crack first with structural injectable epoxy. Thanks
