Well, this is one of my recent favorite DIY's that I am deeply in love with.
Lace was THE biggest trend from the Fall 2023 Runways and specifically lining-less Lace Pants!
There are numerous designer versions that are thousands of dollars but luckily we can make our own for just the cost of a couple of yards of fabric.
1) I will show you how to "knock off" your favorite pants from your closet and turn it into a pattern you can use to re-create them in any fabric.
2) I will show you how to merge the pieces into 1 single pattern piece so that you wont have any visible side seams
3) I will show you how to make a matching lining to fit your pants perfectly

When I use existing pants to create a pattern, I always turn them inside out to allow for the seam allowence. I also make sure that, if I'm going to make out of stretch, the pant I use is stretch and woven for woven. It solves the problem of getting the right size.

I never thought of wearing the tights underneath! Great idea! Honestly then one can swap those for the fleece-lined leggings as well, and booties and wear them in the midst of Winter! Fabulous 😅👌🏼

Oh hey! I’ve seen lace pants in the late 80s early 90s with a long blazer for a business casual summertime look. The lace was white. So I already loved your idea in sexy black. You are so inspiring.

Love it. Totally my thing. I like this solution much better, than an attached lining. And it's more 'wearable' for me and my lifestyle than rhinestones and feathers, honestly 😅. Not, that I don't liks those...I do...but this is something I could actually make and wear for a partie around the holidays. And girl, I get you as far as the emotional upset is concerned. I started crying walking down the street last week...right out in public with loads of people around me. I was actually listening to something rather sweet and sentimental...but all the sorrow and upset just came bursting right out. Sending out virtual hugs to anyone, who wants and needs them!

I adore the energy you portray, Orli!! Us regular people out here, (the people not in the public eye) know to take a mental health day when we need it. I am glad you did, too. We love you but i am sure you dont see yourself the same as we do. Very few people do. Now, about the outfit!! I love your idea about the lining. I would like linings in several different colors for different holidays! Just solid colors. On the other hand, if i liked my legs better i would always wear them bare-legged. Ive always known about making patterns from existing clothes but have i ever done it? Only once or twice. I think i will more often now!! Thank you!!❤❤❤

Thanks for those super clear explanations! It took me quite a while to figure out how to replicate trousers, I wish I had followed your tuto before 😉 Maybe it is a good idea to cut the lining a little shorter than the lace trousers at the top so that it is not too bulky on the waist. I also appreciate the fact that 'nude' does not mean light-coloured for you.

Great idea. Can be done for tops, dresses and skirts which I've started. Different lace skirts from remnant fabric and different coloured linings.😊

I have made an outfit like this 30 years ago, including hot shorts and hand dyed my lace as well. Use to design and made all of my rave/ club scene clothes, and 70 % of regular clothes.
