See the first video on gyroid infill here: • 3D Printing With Gyroi...
In today's video I'll walk you through the process that I took to design and slice the gyroid vase from the previous video. This technique can also be used to create multi colour or multi material prints by assigning different extruders to each part of the model in Slic3r.
Download the "artistic" version of Slic3r PE with gyroid infill for windows here: mega.nz/#!J5ASzASJ!8WjsqoQ3jV...
This version is experimental and may contain bugs. Make sure to backup your print profiles before opening it.

Gyroid is instantly my favorite design now. I'll use octet when I'm going for strength, but when I make things for friends (often) I will 100% go with this every time.

Nice! You have a very clear way of demonstrating techniques. You should really do a Fusion 360 series starting from the ground up. I think that would be a hit.

Hey, Pretty cool, thx. Now to do it in Cura. I believe Cura now supports this infill pattern. ;)

Hey Matt, good stuff. Constructive and unrequested advice: Would be good to see a bit more of the finished product at the end of your video. Also time-lapses never hurt :)

Great video. Do you know if there is a setting in the latest slic3r betas that allow you to turn off the interface layer for zero perimeters that you asked supermerrill to add for you?

Thank you for clear and concise instructions. You are running F360 on MacOSX in this video but the " artistic " version of Slic3r PE you are sharing is Windows version. Did you ever get a Mac version?

Thanks for sharing this video! So I downloaded the zip file for the "artistic" version of Slic3r PE with gyroid infill for windows, how do I add that to PrusaSlicer app?

If you look closely at the gyroid in the slicer, you'll see there are little bits of it free-floating in mid-air (at least in Slic3r / PrusaSlicer). What happens with these when printing?
