Inspired by traditional Japanese buildings, shrines and temples. Both the longest build i have done, and the most complex, it started to lag near the end. I should have used layers more. video is sped up x20

Very nice, I love this program personally, its amazing for backgrounds in comics/manga.

i agree, one can generally make backgrounds very quickly and then render from any angle. i havn't found the best process for making it look mangaish yet, i just export the image and bung it into GIMP directly.

I usually trace the over all layout of the image and change it according to the look I'm going for. But I perfer the look of manga like gantz or inuyashiki, so the look sketchup creates works for me fine.

yeah i havn't decided between "tracing" and just "using the exported image", but if i could get the level of gantz/inuyashiki then i would definitely use the model and skip tracing!

Amazing man! Can you tell me which plugins you use the most? Especially that one wichs mirrors what you are doing. the on who pulls at angle, and if so, the one who divides the surface for planking! Very well done, cheers!
@FlawlessParadox87 жыл бұрын
thanks for your comment! i prefer to use as few plugins as possible, so most of what i do is done with the core tools! for pulling or pushing at an angle, i often move the face itself rather than using a tool. for dividing the surfaces, i move-copy one edge to the the opposite side, then type /10[press enter] you can also right-click any line and choose divide any other questions, please ask!

Hello. You did such amazing job, it's marvelous watching it being created!! I am a webtoon creator who draws background manually but I am getting lesser and lesser time for manual outlines, then a friend of mine (also a webtoon creator) recommended Sketchup. I am just curious... do I need to purchase the PRO version in order to create variety of backgrounds and avoid copyright issues? Or Free version can be decent as well? If you could answer, that would be much appreciated. Thank you 😭
@FlawlessParadox84 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm not sure regarding copyright issues, but otherwise the free version is very powerful, that is what I use myself because I don't like spending money XD You can use the model as the final lineart in your art, or trace it to give it the same style as the rest of your art. All the best for your webtoon!!

FlawlessParadox Waaah thank you so, so much for replying!! It means a lot!! 😭 I'll try the free version then! Seems like I'm missing out on something incredible! Also you do comics, where do you upload it? I'd love to check it out whenever I get the chance! (And thank you again ❤)

@@AEru-kn1wy I don't do comics (well I tried it once and it's difficult!), so I mostly do manga style illustrations on DeviantArt here -> www.deviantart.com/flawlessparadox
