To me, the one and only, is Gae Bolg. Doesn't matter which version, glowy or not. It's just so iconic and one of the most thematically fitting lances for a dragoon. Maybe even the most.

Great list! I'd personally rate the final stage of the HW relic a bit lower, but I love the 2nd-stage ShB one and I never even knew how amazing the UwU lance was!! Would love to see a Scholar weapons list!

In defense of the hw relic weapon: it has a strikingly similar dragon model to the lance that drops in Stone Vigil, which is one you would have likely picked up during your dragoon levelling experience. It is the embodiment of the soul of Coerthas, heightened by the power and energy you poured into your anima. The white glow also complements black, silver or pearly white glams extremely well, making it more accessible than other weapons with more specific glows. Don't bash it till you try it. It's a good middle ground for difficulty between ultimate raids and buying it off the marketboard. And to cap things off, it's also just good roleplay.

Great video, the seeing horde and Dreizack Recollection spears are pretty interesting. Wish I could like Areadbhar more if for no other reason than the origin of it's name being cool but it just kind of looks unwieldy and awkward to me. One thing I will say for Areadbhar that I had forgotten when initially posting this comment that I think is cool is that, it's said in mythology surrounding the spear that it had to be constantly submerged in water to keep the tip from igniting which one might consider as translated into the game via the tip of the spear igniting in light to form the dragon.

the Ultima Gae Bolg has been my glam since i cleared it. I've got all the DRG relics completed, and I still go back to the Ultima every time lol, it just looks SO GOOD.

To be honest... I really don't like the final step for HW relic weapon for DRG, and it's due to the same thing that makes it appealing to everyone else. Putting a shiny dragon on a weapon like how it is right now just feels goofy and kinda ugly to me, it's like it's just been slapped onto the weapon and sold to scam people into thinking this thing is powerful. If anything, the shiny dragon should cover more of the weapon itself, rather than being on just one side(the idea here is to have a shiny dragon head with its mouth open cover a portion of the head of the spear, with it coming out of its mouth and shining a different color, kinda making it look like either a trident or a halberd depending on the way the dragon is shaped), or even better, be fainter and cover the whole spear once its drawn, which would sell more the power it alludes to in the current design. I would have definitely liked this more than the dragon on a plate attached to a stick to be honest. That's the only weapon in this list I don't like, because the other ones are just way better in using their sfx in my opinion, especially the Zodiac Zeta, the ShB relic and the Dreizack ones.

The "mid" draw of the Longinus Zeta is like a sith lightsaber coming out. Check it out. Makes it my favorite.

I am a *huge* fan of twisted and otherworldly 'spears' for Dragoon, weapons that look just as twisted by Nidhogg's rage as their wielder - an extra benefit of Longinus Zeta is that it hits that *exact* colour scheme while not being a halberd, a weapon type that doesn't really work for my fantasy of the job. I'd like to make a shout-out to the Augmented Law's Order Spear, which has the curving, organic design that makes the Shinryu spear appealing, while also having a much more traditional black-and-purple aesthetic that fits in better with the job as a whole. I'd also like to make an added shout-out to the Thunderbolt, the VFX-less version you get just for beating up Ramuh - it has a really unique design that feels much more like a dragon's claw goring your enemies than it does a traditional spear. I'm not a big fan of the lightning VFX on the Mighty Thunderbolt, but the basic version still gets a very nice purple glow that brings out a magical feeling when you wield it. It's been my go-to until I begun pursuing relics, as it really matched what I wanted from a Dragoon weapon conceptually.

To each his/her own. I love HW's last 2 stages simply because of the dragon light effect which completely suits a dragoon. Unlike many of the other glowing weapons. Seeing horde spear gets my 2nd vote though

For me it's gotta be Longinnus Zeta, the grind as a Trial player is hellish but it's gonna be all the sweeter to own once I'm through with it, leveling up all of the DoL/DoH jobs was certainly an interesting part of this journey. I'm on the verge of greatness, let's hope I don't run out of steam before the finish line.

These are all the best GLOWY weapons There are some really great non glow weapons that should have been mentioned. Like the *BEST LOW LEVEL SPEAR* would be the Wyvern Spear that's lv41 and obtained from The Stone Vigil. It use to be the most rarest spear due to its extreme low drop rate which I beleive has been improved after they did some updating to ARR dungeons. It has a wyvern on the tip as the blade just like HW relic. Another good spear that should be mention that doesn't glow is Edenmorn Halbert that youc an obtain from E12S. It's hard to get but possible through PF unsynch. Either get it from coffer, weapon drop or 8 clears to collect 8 books. Very victorian and great for feminen characters due to the beautful roses.

Finally a list that has Shinryu's Ephemeral Lance. It's a fairly rare weapon which I've only seen twice times outside me using it. I use it personally with the Edencall Maiming set.

One of my favorite dragoon weapons is from the online store. It's the Bo-Staff looking like thing. It has no point. My only gripe is that it's a bit too thick. I wouldn't mind a basic stick of sorts lol

I know before i got my lux dragoon weapon i really loved the byakko weapon it fit a lot of my glams that i used at the time i havent use it to much since i got my lux weapon but when i feel bored of using it i do use that byakko weapon at least until i get UwU's weapon but im not stepping into that for a bit

1 Year ago i saw the Dreizack for the 1st time i drooled a bit and took so many screenshots of it, today i have collected already collected both uwu and ucob spears. Back then i thought Dreizack was the best spear in the game and that nothing could top it off. Now i'm slowly loosing interest in Ultimate spears in general. How we grow. ;) I love this game.

They don’t have fancy auras, but two of my favorites are Partisan of Divine Light and Shiva’s Diamond Spear. They’re polearms that suit the Warrior of Light, the Divine Light series for obvious reasons and the Shiva’s Diamond series looking like weaponized crystals.

The Diamond spear also has a very subtle glow when sheathed (noticable when you are flying in twilight in particular). Love that thing, and the glow / aura is plenty when drawn.

Longnus Zeta is my Main spear glam and always will be, it offer a more unique design then other spear relics and the spear itself actually feels cursed (A nod to Gae bulg?) similiar to Cu chulainn Gae Bulg from Fate.

your HW relics list requires a small print: may 2000 poetics in inventory available at any given time. you will have to exchange poetics for items over time and just cannot amass ~15k poetics and then go shopping

@@DesperiusFFXIV to plan the expenditure seems the really hard part of the whole trip to HW relics :) you have to remind yourself to check your poetics amount and buy the items on the list, then raid/run dungeons for the next batch of poetics AND set aside some part of it.

Weird I never got the appeal of the areadbhar, just didn't strike me as "dragoon" (yes I know there a literal dragon as it's tip XD) it just felt kinda lazy to me couple that with how the shaft is designed Def not a fan The UwU weapon will always be peak dragoon for me that or the ShB weapons first stage

I love that spear, but the glow being only at the tip, distorts the design and its harder to appreciate it. My only gripe with the no glow version is that its un-dyeable. That was a foolish decision. The spear is so beautiful and matches great with my gunmetal Drachen armor especially in the abyssal color, since the glow on the two points almost matches the little glow windows on the drachen mail. But of course, yoshi said no sir you cannot dye it.

He calls the new dragoon savage weapon one of the worst when it’s literally top 3 material and is an actual dark souls weapon from the Nameless King boss and the Lance which had nothing to do with dark souls or looks nothing even remotely close to any dark souls weapons got points for style reference???. I get people can have your opinions but this new spear isn’t just a trident or knife on a stick for once, it’s a sword spear. There is finally some variation in a sea of tridents and single spiked spears and he calls the one with a breath of fresh air one of the worst lmao

I just want a nice simple cross spear mang. Everything in this game is so gaudy and overly ornate.

Dont really like those overly shiny weapon, cannot see the beautiful design and detail of the material if those overly shiny aura

I think all of the UwU and other ultimate weapons are lazy reskins that look worse than the originals. More shiny is not more better

Sorry for fans but Lances style weapons are stupid design as it was used on horse riding , no slash etc... The 1st person that used this as foot fighting design should be in jail....or in crazy hospital..

for me 10. Augmented Menis 9. Areadbhar Lux 8. Blade's Glory 7. Sharpened Trident of the Overlord 6. Anima Nexus 5. Seeing Horde Spear 4. Ultimate Rhongomiant 3. Dreizack Recollection 2. Longinus Zeta 1. Gae Bolg Ultima maybe one day i will clear uwu for that weapon lol
