I'm so tired of "it's a kids movie" argument when movies like Spider verse the iron Giant and the Lion King exist just because it's for kids doesn't mean it has to be bad or lazy

Despicable Me 4 wasn’t terrible in my opinion. It wasn’t great by any means, it was totally mid, but it was just mindless entertainment, and it served it’s purpose as an Illumination movie. I’d never watch it again unless someone else wanted to, but I didn’t hate the time I had while watching it. This might just be because I walked in knowing what I was probably going to get and just turned my brain off, and I still didn’t like it that much, but it was fine. 5/10, a pretty nothing movie hat served the purpose of having mildly entertaining objects bounce around the screen for 90 minutes.

There is one plothole in the movie. The fact that the AVL arrested an evil bank manager but not an evil school principal.

Going off of the trailer, I expected this movie to be terrible. After watching it tonight, I believe it is undoubtedly the best one since the first.

i had the same thought, the end wasn't really an end, the intense part lasted basically not even a minute, so the movie just ends with a random dance scene without any context in between.

The best part for me is the "Everybody wants to rule the world". The reason is because every villain is there like Kung fu panda 4. Also it feels a fitting end to the franchise, which it won't.

I thought it was good. You say that they were running out of ideas when they used the same general plot as the past few. As a 15 year old I thought it was pretty funny and a good family movie to watch just to laugh, the minions are hilarious, the karate guy part had me crying and all the kids around me enjoyed it which is it’s intended audience (kids too). Some kids movies (Incredibles, Inside out, into the spiderverse) are meant to be made for adults to enjoy too, but the despicable me franchise is very obviously directed towards kids, i mean just look at the minions, how goofy they are, you really shouldn’t expect deep thinking of life concepts in here, but for the record my mom loved this movie

Maxime Le Mal felt very undeveloped. I thought the concept was awesome and his character design was fantastic. However, he feels uninspired. Why does he want to take Gru's baby hostage? A talent show from freshman year and revenge? At best, it is rarely stated and has a poor motivation. The scenes we see are cool but they lack depth.

They should had followed dru being the antagonist for the movie Imagine the things they could had done with dru taking a huge majority of the minions and having them as his minions, they could had done so much with dru, but he's not even in their

Honestly, i don't think it's horrible, but its not better than the others for sure. i liked how they gave Gru's family more screen time and their own side stories. the final battle was awful and cringe, so much lost potential. I loved the "Everybody wants to rule the world" part, that made a tear come to my eye. But yeah, i'd say its 50/50 of the good and bad. but again they coud've done a lot better tbh.

The movie is not so bad, sure the film is not the best Despicable Me film but it's not "the worst" type of movie like the Foodfight or Megamind 2 bad. It earns a lil' bit more respect, it is pretty funny though.

This may be a hot take, but I still think it’s better than when Toy Story and Kung Fu Panda got their fourth movies.

i went to see this yesterday , and while the movie doesn't seem too bad , im thrown off with how the mega minions ended up being useless throughout the whole movie , along with the villain himself and his whole roach army . it's heartwarming yes , but i feel like the whole thing was a little rushed . i kinda give it a 6 or 7/10 .
