To me, this is the most wholesome story that came out of the tournament arc.
Team B (kaZOOnoko) consists of Korone, Karubi, Shaka, Donpisha, and Kazunoko. With Nanai, Shuto, and Higuchi, as the coaches.
Despite placing last in the CR Cup, Team B are true winners.

I love how Kanai was still coaching Korone at the start even during the chaotic party game matches lmao. Also, they started calling Donpisha the "cow king" later cause he (or maybe it was Guile's kick being too good!) was the best at turning back the cow. And they invited Kazunoko to join them too btw, he wasn't the only one left out lol, but, you know, he's a family man, he can't be going to an after party at 2AM! And Idk if it was clear in the video, but the rule (that they set themselves after a few matches) was to not hit each other during those "knockdown matches" (you can see there's no life bars, only a life bar that gets used up when they get knocked down), so Korone really was going "oh sorry!" again and again while unashamedly breaking the rules lol. But, man... They had a few practice matches before the tournament, the whole ass hours-long tournament to play in, then watched the rest of the tournament together after being eliminated (at this point they were like 8 hours in or so) and they still wanted to have an after party later. This is how you know you got a great group of friends.

It's a crushing thing as a fighting game player to see Korone's frustration at her losses; we've all been there where you try your best and shit goes south...followed by her teammates being like "yo you wanna play some more?" It's just a game at the end of the day, and after a loss, you can just have fun with your friends and vibe after. It's wholesome as hell to see Korone love SF6 so much to feel the weight of the loss, and then just _have fun_ afterward with her newfound friends. It's a great sign for her future as a fighting game player to bounce back like that. Good fight, doggo. You did your best!

@simulationkoyo She won 1 from 3 matches, it's just not a best result I gotta say, I think 1 of her team won 0 from 3 matches...but what can I say is I can't really blame them If you know all the tournament participants, your eyes is 100% gonna be looking at Korone team because you'll thought "What tf are they doing here? Are they can compete at all?" Her strongest team player Donpisha is a Plat up against a giant sea of Diamond and Masters, Shaka probably has the least fighting game experience than his other 3 enemies, Karubi just reach gold and still have trouble at Guarding, and Korone literally a stray JP that never appear at stage at all I honestly one of the person that doubt them asking like "Why CR invite them like surely there's better player out there?". At first I was worried if she would be able to fit into a team with professional players. But it seems like the community of this game is much warmer and welcoming than I expected. Their team seems warm and willing to welcome new players. I saw a clip of Dokura, Botan's team leader. Worried about both of them. He wants Botan and Korone to keep playing SF6. That's really the cute part of him. I also saw him playing Idol Showdown last month. before actually joining the team with Botan

Japanese FGC pros are all reaaaaaally chill. It's probably because the TOP players tend to be older (Daigo is 42 for example, but Kazunoko is on the "younger" side for top players at 35) dudes who are just happily married (many of whom livestreamed their wedding parties btw lol) with children and such, so they're pretty sociable/grown-up and that attitude gets passed to the younger players who hang out with them.

The FGC in Japan is very welcoming to newbies. SF6 got a lot of inputs from the pros to make it more accessible to new players because they realize that the scene needs new players to grow, else it'd just be a bunch of 30+ dudes playing against each other.
@CofeLatTe
@CofeLatTe Жыл бұрын
I know Botan also asked Dokura this question. and he replied something like Because in the olden days, it was normal to find a good player from the arcade game shop, that was why they didn't care about welcoming new players. But as time goes on, it turns out that fighting games cannot survive. Because going to fighting games in arcades is less popular and epidemic. That's why Dogura sees this event as a great opportunity to welcome and show people the fun of fighting games. This event was a very good and important thing at this time for Fighting Game as he knew that they had a bad reputation that needed to be erased.

This SF6 CR Cup was a crazy ride for Korone. Haven't seen her being this engaged in a while.

MAn the casual modes look fun and they actually teach you your character's stuff like "checking moves" for the cow game.

This really gave off strong aqua-like vibes from when she played in vsaikyou, a lot of potential during scrims but not that good of a tournament, but still quite an event and milestone

It's sad that we lost Nanai after this. It would've been fun to see the full team back for another tournament

Once they all left and Korone started crying I had to close the stream because I can't deal with that. I was pretty confused when I opened the stream again later on and they were all back and goofing off.
