I live in a city that tears down every older building in order to erect a new, cold glass and concrete structure. I hope you all appreciate the beauty in Frankiln and the surrounding smaller towns and help to always maintain their character, age, and beauty .

I grew up outside Franklin, but definitely appreciate the history and architecture of the town. It’s sad because I wish there was more industry there. A beautiful area that has potential.

Very nice production on promoting Franklin Pa. Great photography and soundtrack. The old postcards at the end were a great touch!

I used to live in Franklin. The city is quite charming to say the least, but the employment situation there is what forced me and about 300 others to leave in what was later called "operation exodus" to Columbus, Ohio, where the unemployment rate was among the lowest in the nation. I'm retired now, but I still return to Franklin for some of their festivities. I was absolutely amazed at how big the Applefest has gotten. Each year, it keeps getting better and better. It's probably the same with other events there. There are a lot of things that I miss about good ole Pennsylvania in general, and Franklin in particular. In Columbus, anything that's old is condemned, torn down and replaced with these gawdy looking monstrosities that we're supposed to call "progress" Franklin redefines "progress" The people there actually appreciate some old things, and even older people like me. In Columbus, it's "move outta my way" In Franklin, it's not nearly as troublesome, or tedious. Everyone has their quirks and Franklin is no exception. But unlike the bigger cities like Columbus, Franklin's quirks are what made the Applefest so big and a good many of the people so wonderful.

Would you happen to know anything about the Lamberton building in the video? I'm from california and my mother's biological father was a man named Richard D. Lamberton son of Robert h Lamberton and Ruth Emery Lamberton I believe. I dont know much about my grandfather besides that he was stationed in Lompoc Ca and that he is from Franklin Pa

I am one of those “operation exodus” people who grew up and moved away. Definitely enjoy coming back to see family and miss home at times, but I don’t think I could ever move back.

How beautiful- a small town they didn't allow to crumble and fall away! The only thing I didn't see in all the wonderful pics was even a single person of color, (but that's OK).

I blame you for not doing enough to get "people of color" living in Frankiln. AND, I only saw one redhead. Whats up w/ that?
@vlo48296 жыл бұрын
I hope you're just trolling, but if it really matters to you, I saw a few Asians. But if it's "okay" to not see "people of color" (don't know why people are trying to make "colored" a thing again) why mention it as the "only thing" wrong with the video/town? I don't really see how any race of person being added or removed from a picture would make it "better" or "worse" somehow.

Actually it's a really nice and scenic town. It's a great roadtrip destination. Maybe it's difficult for you as a resident to imagine because you're used to it and your experience there is just the daily drudge, but for travelers, it's a charming town. Try playing tourist in your town sometime. You may start to see some of the charm...
