Nice one (and welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole Hunter🦊). Do not expect every (any other) BABYMETAL songs to sound quite like 'Gimme Chocolate'. I will say to Nate 'Gimme Chocolate' is one of the last songs I would recommend for somebody's first time seeing and hearing BABYMETAL ... I know it is the song most likely to be seen first by most people, but I have seen that going wrong too many times. It can go either way - some people love it or are intrigued enough to give them another listen, some people are instantly turned off and think every song will be the same or similar so they never give them another chance - and that is a shame. My own recommendation for a first listen would be something like 'Megitsune', 'Headbanger' or 'IDZ' - and ideally a live version of one of those.
@PeaceKeeperReaction10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the great feedback. I think headbanger will be next. It’s a fave of mine. Any version in particular you would recommend
@Grington30010 ай бұрын
@@PeaceKeeperReaction The usual recommendation is for Legend 1997 (Gans Tomas or abr metal both have high quality videos safe to use for that), but you could do something different and use the very first appearance of the Kami Band in 2012, so you are looking for 'Headbanger' live at Legend I.

Thanks for spreading the Japanese rock and metal scene to newcomers. 👍 I think you're trying to say _Harajukucore_ (pronounce the J). That is the name Hanabie created to describe their style of music. _Harajukucore_ applies only to Hanabie. The term you're looking for when describing BABYMETAL is _Kawaii Metal._ That's the genre they essentially invented over a decade ago.

Great reaction, Hunter! I always look to see if one smiles. You got it! Now regarding if foreigners are accepted in Japan: that is a loaded question. Same as' "Are Asians welcomed in North America?" I am a Japanese and lived in Vancouver, BC for 6 years in the 50's (when ya'll had the Union Jack in your flag and sang God Save the Queen). I lived 4 decades in Japan, and am now in my 28th year here in Washington, DC, so from my perspective, MOST Japanese and Canadians (and Americans) are welcoming to foreigners, but the Japanese initially tend to treat them as important guests, where in NA, we are good friends. Therefore, one may feel "alienated" initially since they are not immediately let into the core of a group. I have had people from both Canada and the US join in groups in Japan, and in most cases, after some time we all melt in. How much so all depends of personality just as it does in NA. BUT one thing I can point out with confidence, Hunter... and that is you may want to clean your mic stand... that is not up to Japanese standards! 😝
@PeaceKeeperReaction10 ай бұрын
Hahaha. I could see nothing but dust on the mic stand the whole time I edited and this will be fixed. Thanks for the interesting perspective you shared. I will share this with hunter the next time we film.

Gimme chocolate is not really the best intro to the band despite its view rating - it can often give ppl a false impression of them as frivolous and anime like - which they're certainly not, but not everyone can see past the surface. Great reaction anyway and more please :) Im a gonna go off and go bite something now - it's a hard life being rabid ;)

Yeah, it’s a fun song as an intro but by no means my favourite. Thanks for commenting and watching.
