This adventure has been on the back burner for nearly a decade, and I am soooo excited to finally pull it off. Once I learned that the glacier on the Kokanee beer can was located in the Kootenays of BC, I knew I had to drink one on the glacier its self. I tried to get up there a few weeks ago, but the motorhome couldnt get to the trailhead. A generous fan of the channel offered to rent me a car and get me to the trailhead. Let me tell you, this climb is not for the faint of heart. It is a gruelling 11 km grind to the top, and another 11 km back down. It is classified as a double black diamond, and I can confirm its aggression. If youre up for the challenge, the views are absolutely breath taking, and the beer is cold and refreshing. I hope you all enjoy this video, as it was an absolute pleasure for me to create it.

Hiya Dustin, Stumbled across your channel awhile ago. I’ve watched and enjoyed each video you’ve posted. It’s awesome that you’re able to get out, explore and be free. I live vicariously through you. I did that hike when I was younger and we slept at the cabin overnight. Such beautiful views up there. I'm shocked by how much that glacier has melted in the years since we went up there.

I have to say I enjoy the way you and Chrome Valdez from VanCityVanLife shoot your videos. While you both have your own style, you're both very professional in how you edit and present your work. I'm so glad I subscribed to your channel since I'll never be allowed to visit as a tourist bc of mistakes early in my adult life. Oh well, seeing them on video is the closest I'll ever get so keep on videoing for those of us who can't see where you're at. Love them!

@@TheSouthernLady777 My boots cost around $200 CAN, not sure if that is expensive, but they are super comfortable, lasted me over 5 years too. Brand is Vasque. I think it is common for them to hurt first few walks because they need to break in, so that could also be why your feet hurt. Did you wear them at least 5 times on a trail?

Growing up in the Kootenays, I thought all beer tasted like Kokanee and I wasn't a fan but it was basically the beer anyone from 14 (yaaaa underage drinking at bush parties) to 84 seemed to drink. I remember as kids we would always look for the Sasquatch on the label, I think they stopped putting it on a few years back...they also had great TV commercials featuring a park ranger in aviators and on the east side of Creston there was even a road sign with a Sasquatch carrying a case of beer on the side of the highway. I did discover that I liked beer much later on, and Fernie Brewery is definitely a good one. Nothing against Kokanee beer, it's a pilsner allegedly made with glacier water so I'll give it that and my dad drives it from the brewery down to the Lower Mainland (and takes the good craft beer back to the Koots haha).

@Joe Mack Maybe they put it back on but I do remember it was taken off for a little while. Looking for the hidden sasquatch on the can is probably the best part of Kokanee haha.

Stunning, stunning views from up there! Thanks for taking us less adventurous ones on the trip with you. When you went in that cave I stopped breathing, omg, you are alone, what if it caved in more or something horrible, or an animal was sleeping in there. I hate caves, they freak me out. But the views! I had to stop the video and just stare, can't pick a favorite frame. Thanks so much for this :)
