The new skip saves a good amount of time, typically around 20 seconds. So considering we've had a 5:39 run with no skip this could easily get much lower; theoretically sub 5 is possible.
We lost about 3 seconds due to my death during skip :(
Ultimately this speedrun comes down to cube RNG (it wasn't very good this run, but we made up for it in the other sections).
We also got bottom left ending for wasteland which is worst outcome, but still managed a PB!

It definitely took some weeks of going in and practicing the route solo before running it as a team

why do you switch subclasses when falling after 1st? Like what does it do O.o

it just makes you fall down faster because it cancels the shatter dive animation but keeps the momentum

Any tips on skating off your sparrow other than just get good? Awesome run btw!!

I try to stick with the sequence of 4 dodges, I almost always do it that way even in this run; and on the last 2 dodges do them in pretty rapid succession so that you automatically land on your sparrow at a solid angle to have a larger window of time to skate off it. Other than that, just practice at Nessus lol

Tbh I haven't messed with it much yet, but as far as what I've heard from other people it seems regular sparrows are just better for speed if you know all the sparrow tech (slipstreaming, slip skating, etc..). Skimmers could be very useful for people who don't know all the tech already though. They may also have a very niche use case in the future for long sections that you need to fly across and don't necessarily have to do so as quickly as possible (certain skips in raids or dungeons where the person skipping usually has excess time waiting for the others to complete the encounter).

we didn't, my two teammates did them. If you dunk at the right spot you can get 2 in 1, so one of them got light, an the other got dark, then they dunked in the right spot to hit both their respective colors; clearing all four of the dunks. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n5t0bLpenq6xlXU.html - here's an example of their PoV

You don't actually need to be on the plate to dunk the motes, you can actually be pretty far from it and it will still work. So if you dunk in the right spot you can get 2 plates at once.

If it weren’t for the death barriers 5 feet below the map it wouldn’t be too bad, but that definitely makes it much harder

Yeah he can be a pain. I would just say to run solar with heal nades or invis hunter and maybe chip away at him with Dragons Breath + like supremacy or something, that's probably the safest and easiest way
