I firmly believe that the monsters talked about in the Black Armory papers were going to be the long-awaited “Darkness race”, but this eventually got retconned into being the Hive, presumably after it was decided that a new enemy race would be “overdelivering”. I don’t like being negative, and I am cautiously optimistic about Final Shape, but to say that how the story has played out is how it’s always been planned is a flat-out lie. You don’t tease an entire armada of alien ships, only to end up fighting Fallen and Hive in said ships.

Glad we’re getting collapse lore But man I wish we got it in game Maybe one of the characters will give us a flashback cutscene or something Cayde was there so maybe him Not sure if shaxx was there but would be cool if he had some relevance in more stuff

Lots of characters were there. Drifter, Elsie, Ana etc. But totally agree need more in game stuff regarding the collapse.

Honestly this sounds like it's tied to Nezarec considering if I remember correctly that lore entry from Mithrax's mother was about them exploring one of the tombs of Nezarec on the moon pyramid ship, which would mean whatever those earthen monsters are would be tied to him if they are the same creature that both groups encountered. Not to mention the fact that the witness doesn't seem particularly interested in causing random acts of cruelness and violence to scare people, but who does? Nezarec, plus I think there was some lore mentioning that Nezarec was one of the witness' diciples that lead the charge on earth which would make sense with what was described in this lore entry.

I have a feeling the Black Armory came in contact with the Hive. A cloud of black smoke, withering someone right down to the bone, wet earth smell & screams? It sounds a lot like a chorus of hive wizards, possibly Death Singers

I maintain this lore came from back when destiny was still going to have a new darkness enemy race.

@@benpost276I second that, this lore was created before the Bungie - Activision split, when the story’s future was a lot more ambitious and Bungie actually had the resources to add things such as a new race. Then when Bungie went solo they had to dial A LOT back down and here we are 5 years later with a very lack luster ending of the saga.

Incredible that it survived the collapse, the red war etc, but stasis was enough of a bumble to make them go "nah same story as before, but this time it's lost forever". They failed at plot right there.

What happened to the rest of Ada's quest. She put a plate we gave in her head and glowed. Another quest step popped up on the screen but quickly disappeared again. I don't think her story was finished.

Bungie should bring back the black armory as a full foundry so we can get new BA weapons. Maybe make a episode or mission of us helping Ada-1 build up her resources

All her weapons should've come back with Into the Light. Not just 2 since y'know WE'RE DEFENDING THE LAST CITY SO WE'LL NEED ALL THE FIREPOWER BUNGO!!!!
