Figured Cayde would die but thought it would be through some self-destructive move that finished the witnessed. Thought they were hinting at that when Crow told Cayde he’s made of light and has no idea what he’s capable of. Guess that could apply to resurrecting a ghost tho. Still love the ending

I got into this franchise for Cayde 6 after his first death because of the clips I saw and lamented not starting earlier, and I knew they were going to pull this shit when him and Crow were getting friendly. Didn’t make it any easier though.

A 10 year journey at it's end it has been an honor being apart of this journey with you all ❤

It’s one thing for a series to tell an ongoing story for 10+ years, but to be a part of that story like Destiny has allowed you to be is another. This is one example of how video games are a great medium for storytelling especially with putting you at the center of it. I got all teary eyed finishing the Final Shape campaign because this is the end of the “Light and Dark” Saga that Destiny has been telling for 10 years. On top of that, we have to go through Cayde dying again but this time, it’s a proper goodbye which is honestly a great piece of storytelling considering that Ikora and Zavala finally got their closure on Cayde became after 6-8 years since Forsaken, they never got to say goodbye. And like even though we never see that happen on screen, these final moments with Cayde were all Zavala and Ikora needed. It really begs the question of, “Where does Destiny go from here?” considering that what happens now with the Witness done? I’m sure those at Bungie have a plan for a new expansion but I wouldn’t be mad that the game just ended with The Witness.

I am so sad.. yet also so happy. It is a way better acceptable way to say farewell to Cayde then Forsaken. Yet.. I feel so empty. I wish we had him for a longer time. Yet.. he said he gifted us the time + life him and Sundance could never get. Well.. now he can. He reunited with Sundance in the Light after gifting us with saving our Ghost. It was his destiny.. 😢 I wish we had more of him nonetheless but this time he sounded so fine. And that one last message of Cayde.. it broke my heart and made me proud at the same time. We got some more time with him. You could almost say he finally became adult. I will miss him. A hero. A legend. A great end, but the tears are flowing nonetheless. Love you Cayde ❤

I stopped playing destiny years ago but I will always remember selecting my first class hunter one who fights alone the rouge like aspect of the hunter class has always intrigued me compared to the other two as I fought alongside other guardians through the struggles of D1 to the fateful turn of events when cayde was killed it genuinely hurt me then to see him come back just to sacrifice himself for all of the other guardians out there to give us another shot at life I have to say my journey trough destiny has been a rough one as I'm sure many others have felt that pain we've lost friends and made new ones now that our journey has come to an end I thought I was ready for I find myself in a weird place but to any and all guardians out there I'll see you again space cowboys till the next adventure arise

I joined in early 2018 I have been on and off. but I've been always watching the story progress and is one hell of a story from the highest of highs to the lowest of Lowe's. after all to seen this story that started in 2014 come to an end is just crazy. This is not the end but I'm hopeful for wherever the next story will go So my final message is this... make your own fate guardians, your own destiny whether it may take you. I hate the traveler. After everything we've done for it, it was going to let our ghosts die. If it wasn't for Cayde, we'd be lightless. I know Cayde wasn't going to stink around so it would have been best to have him channel his light into our ghost for the final attack and then for him to dissipate after the attack was over.

10 years... 10 whole years. That how long it took us to end the light and dark saga. We once woke up as a new light guardian with zero knowledge of anything back in destiny 1. We discovered that our true purpose was to fulfill our destiny of defeating the witness and bringing balance of light and dark. We started as a novice, killing a couple of high ranking enemies and eventually our first God 'The Black Heart' It was after that when we realised that we needed to continue growing stronger, not only to fight the enemies of the darkness but to be the shield of the last city. Now here we are, we've transcended, balanced light and dark and we are full blown God Killers. I'm glad i was able to experience all of this, and if anything else tries to fill in the void that the witness left after we unmade it, you'll be damned sure we'll stop it, cause that is our purpose, our destiny. Eyes up Guardians, see you all starside.

As awesome as this expansion was, it makes me think that I should just move on and let go of Destiny, and close the chapter on what was indelibly a part of my life.
