This is an early review of LEGO Ninjago set 71797 Destiny's Bounty: Race Against Time! This set officially releases on June 1st, 2023 as a part of the Ninjago: Dragons Rising wave, and contains 6 minifigures: Dragons Rising Kai, Dragons Rising Lloyd, Arin, Sora, Core Wu, and Rapton, as well as Baby Riyu, the baby dragon!
Official LEGO Description:
Ninja fans aged 9+ will be excited to play out action with this updated Destiny’s Bounty - race against time (71797) playset. The iconic vehicle is now an airship, allowing the ninja to sail above the newly merged world. It features a removable dragon nesting at the front, posable sails, stud shooters at the back and 360-degree rotating engines. The roof can also be removed to reveal a navigation room and a playroom with an arcade machine.

8:25 funny thing is, in Possession, you can see somewhat of a support beam in the Destiny’s Bounty, but it’s not that obvious, just a lot of grids. That bounty didn’t break apart either, they replaced it. So that further supports the fact that they made it somewhat of a support beam in this bounty.

The paper on the wall in the middle room looks a lot like a document, leading me to believe that it's a brand new ship that the ninja bought and converted into a new bounty in case the other bounty goes out of commission because that has happened a lot. Also, when it comes to Wu's design change, i wouldn't be surprised if it was reverted back due to the disconnect between his figure and show appearance from seasons 11-15 because during those while his show appearance only had the extended beard and ponytail, the set one has a face that really didn't look much like Wu. I do kinda wish he kept the ponytail though and we just got a brand new Wu head instead of the same one since 2017

I really like how this thing looks, plenty of cool stuff with the dragon and shooters and transformation, and plenty of living space for the ninja which is really fun and makes it really feel like a home for the ninja

27:35 Ok, I looked through my Fortnite locker & the closest thing I could find was the customizable Omni Sword pickaxe from Chapter 3 Season 2. Definitely an entertaining point to bring up though!

It looks the most similar when you use the orange “volcano” blade color, “destroyer” top blade, “ceremonial” guard, “shard” bottom blade and default handle style for the Omni Sword pickaxe. It doesn’t matter what impact sound you use because we don’t know what the sword in the show sounds like as of May 23rd 2023 if it’s even used to begin with.

I would not be upset if Arin gets Wind. I have seen Yellow connected to Wind/Air in other media, though from the box it seems this Dragon may be connected to Sora alone. Trust me there are more than enough people Kai's age who draw like they're 4 years old. Seng the blurry image I wasn't sold on the blue but with the dragon and now seeing it, the Bounty looks amazing and I will definitely be getting the set. The minifigures are all perfect and Riyu sells this set on just him and his little house alone XD

I think I've figured it out. The dragon this set comes with is sora, it's a bit of a stretch, but there are some similarities between the two, the head shapes are similar, the horns on the head are similar, they are both a similar size, and it makes a bit of sense because why would the ninja have a random dragon with them in the bounty when they could have a dragon that sora cares about.

The holes in the boat are kinda disappointing, I like it but I would have preferred another color scheme for the dragon, like maybe dark red or something that doesnt clash as much with the bright red (I do not think adding light blue to the rest of the ship helped much lol)

No the middle is stable enough to be held like that because there are technic beams on the inside. In fact it's the way i prefer holding it when I pick it up

I don't mind it, as it looks like the perfect combination of The Final Flight set from Possession and The Legacy Bounty. As i don't have the Core Wu Minifigure he'll be exclusive to me, and the minifigure selection is good especially if i'm only getting this along with the temple and the hound sets. The mechanism is somewhat of a let down being so simple i would have expected the engines to turn as well but like the wing print and design. The Space is there however the dragon feature really takes away from the interior.

Arin might not be the elemental master of wind cuz as we know, there can only be one elemental master of each element (I think just going with what u remember from show) and we see one of the writers from cloud kingdom use wind to save the ninja. I’m not sure if I’m right that much or not but it’s everything I remember
