What if you make a longer tube?

I presume it’d need to be made of tougher stuff to hold vacuum over a longer tube. If ai had to guess. The KZfaq channel ‘Smarter Every Day’ uses vacuum to launch a baseball out of a metal barrel breaking the sound barrier.

If we make a longer tube then the ball has more time to accelerate that means long tube = more speed

Too long of a tube though means the cushion of air stops the ball from exiting…there is a sweet spot
