Fun fact on NLAW: It has PLOS guidance meaning it is technically guided, however, it does not require constant targeting as the computer in the missile will take where the site where the operator is aiming and use it to auto guide after a few seconds. This means if the target is moving, the NLAW will automatically track its predicted route after a few second in the optic.

Drae I recommend you to look at these tank mods: -panzers of the reich -US tank mod expansion Those are incredible detailed and well made tank mods Panzers of the reich includes: -panzers 4 (from G model to J) -panthers (From D to A model) -tiger 1 (from H1 to E models) -sturmtiger -ferdinand The mod also includes vehicles like: -kugelwagen -halftrack (this comes whit a mg and the SPG version which has a 7.5 cm gun) MG in tripods Mg 34 and mg 42 The tanks also have radios which reproduces audio The tanks have fully modeled interiors You can also spawn tanks whit crew and tanks that have radgolls US tank expansion adds: -M4A2 -M4A3 (105) -M4A2 76 -M4A3 76 Also includes M3 GMC (a halftrack which is an Self Propelled Gun) Willis whit 50 cals on them Etc Those are really incredible mods who receive updates normally

A tip about torpedoes, when you are aiming there is a 'down angle' listed to the right. That shows the angle of decent. The larger the angle the deeper the dive over time (trigonometry). This is why torpedo boats fire up, dropping their torps on to the water instead if shooting down (like you were doing)

Torpedoes are usually below the surface and are fired from torpedo tubes! The ones that you say fire up are the depth charges which are made for anti submarines which use the principle you stated!

angle and the marks appearing on screen is the angle the torpedo is going at, so aim straight and it should hit shallow things if Im reading the readout correctly Topdown and direct on the NLAW are the 2 firing modes, the first will make a nearly direct line from you to the target, and the other will hit the target from the top, where the armour is generally worse.

Actually The NLAW has two modes. It has a direct hit mode, and a On top motion detection mode.

The Ratte was a hilarious wonder weapon plan, it had the weapons of a battleship, and the engines from U-boats. Even if germany did manage to build one it probably would have failed horribly just due to how large it is.

Ah yes, the P1000 Ratte, the tank was powered by 2 Uboats, and had a battle ship cannon, 2 Maus turrets, 8 flak cannons

Ok so the nlaw direct goes where you aim and top down you need a lot of space as it goes up then flys down like the javelin.

Minor correction, the NLAW’s top-attack is an “overfly” attack where it’s still direct, just flys above the target and explodes above it with a downward-facing warhead, vs the javelin which does as you say.

Some tanks have a top down fuse shell too. Where the shell basically does the same thing as the top down missiles.

Here's a tank fact. The Landkreuzer P-1000 "Ratte" was a conceptual tank designed by Krupp in 1941, it was approved by Hitler, but never built. It would have had 2 240mm Guns on it's turret and an 128mm anti tank canon in front. On top of it 8 20mm anti air turrets were supposed to be mounted. It would have been a 35 meters long, 14 meters wide and 11 meters tall with a total weight of 1000 tons. To move they would either have used a multi-engine system designed by Daimler or a submarine engine from MAN and was suppose to have an armor thickness of 150 to 360mm. It would have required a crew of at least 20 man, which also would have access to a toilet (yes, really. A toilet on a tank, that would have been an interesting first (and probbably last). Now they got to the point where they would have needed to produce a prototype, but that never happened. First of all it would have used way to many ressources and money. Producing it might even have completely killed germanies economy at the time. Secondly due to it's size it would have required shipyards to produce some components and assemble it, as normal tank factories would simply have been too small. Yet due to germanies naval effort there simply were no shipyards availibly, as all were needed. If you ask me, i think this thing would have been a gigantic failure. While tanks would have had trouble penetrating it, bombers would have been able to hit it's top quite easily, which well... we all know what that would go.

I'm extremely impressed with that T-72. The ammo is held in the rotator in a cylindrical fashion. When it exploded, it did so in the exact same way it would in real life, causing the cannon to pop off. It's why there are so many photos of Russian tanks with them off in Ukraine, because they're being hit in the ammo chamber. Apologies for any wrong terminology, clearly I'm not an expert, just curious, so I pick up a few things.

Landkreuzer P.1000 Ratte was the very definition of overkill. To put some things into perspective, Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus, the heaviest tank ever built, weighed 188 tons and boasted a 128mm main cannon. Nothing to sneeze at. The P.1000 Ratte, had it been built, would have weighed (as the name suggests) 1000 tons, and for its main armament would have had a pair of 280mm cannons originally designed for use on battleships, in addition to a secondary armament of eight 128mm AA guns, so it basically had the firepower of eight Mauses and then some. It probably would have never worked if they had actually built it, though. Not only would it have been monstrously slow and a very obvious target for bombing runs, it would have consumed impractically huge amounts of fuel and require forty people to keep it running. Perhaps fortunately for the already-not-great economy of Nazi Germany, the project was cancelled by Speer, Hitler's Minister of Armaments, so the Ratte never progressed beyond a design sketch.

I hoped this gets liked enough for Drae to so. But anyway, Drae, you really need to read up on guns and artillery and things like tanks, there is high explosive and armor piercing high explosive torpedoes, which was what you were firing. It is simple HE is high-explosive, AP is armor-piercing, and APHE is armor-piercing high-explosive, though if you come across it there is HEIAP or SAPHEI which is high-explosive Incendiary/armor-piercing or semi-armor-piercing high-explosive incendiary. For additional ammunition that pierce there is APCR which is armor-piercing composite rigid, APDS which is for armor-piercing discarding sabot, and APFSDS which is armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot. If they add this to a tank in tear down, I think you will enjoy this, but there is a shell type developed for artillery and tank cannons to use called canister shot or a canister shell, that fires out a bunch of shot, so your artillery cannon or tank cannon then becomes a giant shotgun basically. Edit: the P-1000 Ratte is a massive tank that used naval artillery cannons for the main gun along with smaller artillery cannons and a bunch of machine guns as well. It is so massive it could fit a crew of about 60 people or so if I recall.

Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus was a German World War II super-heavy tank completed in late 1944. It is the heaviest fully enclosed armored fighting vehicle ever built. It's also my favorite tank.

Funfact about that Javlin F&F system is that: direct mode is for Low flying aircraft while Top down or Top attack mode is used to target the tanks roof cause its lightly armor. The rocket itself uses TANDEM projectile. TANDEM has 2 explosions. 1 is to knock out the shielding then releases a Melted core metal penetrating the armor devestating the crew

That hose is pretty accurate. The hoses at my department have different diameters and the bigger the diameter the harder it pushes back, for those that don’t know.

That is a real tank design. Landkreuzer P 1500 Monster. The Ratte was the little brother (Landkreuzer P 1000) There was more Landkreuzers, each one more shocking. Highly recommend looking them up.

The topdown mode means the projectile explodes above the tank and fires downwards so it hits the weakest spot of the tank(roof)

The Landkreuzer P top speeds was 25 miles per hour and the range was 120 miles. And no it never seen combat. But it was the second best military vehicle they had.

Interestingly the behaviour of the P1000 is not that far off. This tank would have been that huge and heavy, it would have been nearly impossible to move. It would have been very slow and so underpowered, that driving through a ruin or just up a hill would get it stuck very fast. It would even sink into the ground onto its bottom plate when going over some muddy patch of grass and therefore be absolutely useless anywhere except a concrete area (which it would destroy very fast with all that weight). A ridiculous design for a crazy leader.
