I can't even tell you how many times I've run into challenges with Revit and Balkan Architect has been the last instruction on the topic I utilized (because after watching I didn't need help anymore) . He's covers the content thoroughly, so you can follow along, without being pedantic. Thank you, sincerely Sir.

Love it. Your work is priceless tbh......but PLEASE do a video on Revit railings and the odd things that Revit does with them. I'm talking about connecting separate landing/stair rails to other stair rails at different levels. Multi-storey stairs feature still doesn't solve the issues.

Incredible. Most of that is new to me. The biggest problem I have in the program is getting sections and details out of the model that are decent. My only issue with this video is that it seems very time consuming. There is a point where I just end up drawing details with limes and components.

One thing I will add, with details, usually its nice to have a library of details, that you can click and paste, and I prefer using drafting views because of this. For example, I do residential drafting, I do not want to re-dim, and re-detail, everytime I use the same detail, which is a lot...I use to do it this way, but way to much mucking around, for something I've drafted over and over again. One other thing that I do not like about Revit, is not so much on the initial drawing, but drawings change, when you move things, you lose your detail, and dims, and have to re-work the details. Revit should allow for unreferenced dims, similiar to ArchiCAD. Maybe make them in italics, or faded, something, that when you move a wall your dims don't disapear on your details, hence why I like using drafting views.

You can lock the details to the building elements
@andyl1042
@andyl1042 2 жыл бұрын
I feel that the way forward is to use details views as it allows you to have a library of details and simply drop them into your project, you can then use the call out to refer to the view, again and again, using "Reference Other View" option in the Callout creation.

We don’t use the callout tool in practice. We duplicate the view. If you create a callout and some twit deletes it on a drawing you loose all the work you did working up the detail. If you duplicate a section then reference it you’ll still have the view if the callout is accidentally deleted.
