Hello Bong and thx for this great video. Could you please explain why there must be clesrence of 0.5 to 0.8 between the piston and the shower screen? Don't you limit the maximum amount of water that could be pushed through the puck this way? I know it's only a small amount but why not make the piston touch the shower screen ever so slightly?

Just a safety clearance so that the piston will not push down the shower screen out. This space (0.5mm) will sacrifice about 0.75ml on output which is almost negligible.

Hi, quick question. The gasket that you use at 4:30 to scrape the excess grease...what is it normally used? Rgds

Hello, can you tell me if any plastics come in contact with water on the La Pavoni when making expresso and when using the steamer for milk? Thank you.

I would suggest that it mostly depends on the version you have : during a time they used to make plastic piston so the answer would be yes, other than those models and with the exception of gaskets when flowing through assembled parts I would say no
