The fact that this is still being built in Tahara is amazing. I’m very impressed with the new 4Runner overall and I’m looking forward to seeing it in person! Thank you for showing us the walkaround!

Is it a good thing that it is made in Tahara? Shouldn't it be good for the U.S. economy as well, since the Toyota plant in the U.S. is maturing and there are no quality issues? From a Japanese who works for TICO

Seeing Jon geek out on stuff like the rear window switch is why he is a Toyota Fanboy like myself and thus an awesome reviewer and of all the ones I have watched thus far on the 6th gen 4Runner, the most genuine. It was nice how you could draw parallels to past 4Runners you owned and I liked how you did the 1st impression review for the 2nd half of the vehicle. Good job Toyota of bringing Jon out for his review...two thumbs up :). P.S., I do like what I see but not sure on the grille yet as it has a stacked looked to me so I need to see these in person to make up my mind.

Jon, you crushed it, great review in 9 minutes. The 6th Gen seems way better than I was thinking it would be. The major important thing in my mind that remains to be confirmed is long term reliability, especially engine and trans (but, hey, it's Toyota). Good items to me are: Made in Japan, rear window roll down with high mounted wiper, auto lift gate, huge 14" screen, 4H/4L, locking rear diff, body on frame, modernized interior, digital gauge cluster, and AUX buttons. Next, I'd like to see inside the engine bay and see SPECS, esp. MPGs and curb weights (regular vs. iForceMax). Thanks.

I have a 4Runner now. Looking at this, I like the body style, like that it's made in Japan. The mistake they made is, there's no V6 as far as I've been reading. The turbo-four might be surprisingly punchy and briskly hustles up to highway speeds, though it might sound a bit raspy during hard acceleration. The six-cylinder engines turn up the heat in a big way. The V6 will deliver strong acceleration, launching it from 0 to 60 and enable quick passing maneuvers. The extra torque is also a boon when pulling a heavy trailer. And no Hybrids for me. Also, please tell me there's no engine Auto Stop/Start ??

Instead of the 4 liter V6, the 2025 4Runner has joined the fad of sticking a small 4 banger engine into a vehicle that it isn't suited for, then add turbos to try and make up for the difference. This is one of the reasons the older 4Runners lasted forever, they had an engine size that was suitable for its size and purpose. I don't expect these newer 4Runners will have as much longevity or reliability.

@@av8ferg237 gm uses their V8 in everything and it's physically smaller than any Toyota V8. Remember -- GM's modern V8's that are mass produced have AFM, which makes them act like a 4 cylinder (this includes emissions) ; Toyota doesn't use that. And the 5.2 is only in the Mustang isn't it? To my knowledge, the 3.5 Ecoboost outsells the 5.0 in the F-150 by a pretty large margin. Emissions is one reason why Chrysler is discontinuing the Hemi for the '25 model year.

Alright - how much time do i have with this one? This video so great. Ive watches so many of you speculating on this truck getting to see you do the 'raw' walk around was just completely cathartic. Finally its here!

When it comes to the looks the new 2025 4runner looks prety darn good. Unfortunately I think the bulletproof engine reliability that the 4runner has been known for is now gone.

Time will tell but I agree, might get 150k but not the magical 400,000

I feel like the exterior looks cobbled together. It's not ugly but it feels like it lacks flow or unity... Like it's three different vehicles mashed together.

I was secretly hoping they didn’t nail the new 4R so that my decision to get the LC was clear, but seems like they absolutely nailed it and now I cannot decide lol

Love your review and then your first impressions even more. I’m looking forward to a review/walkaround of the TRD ORP variant. Let’s see if it’s still the sweet spot for customization to an overlander/camper/rock crawler.

When you sat in the back seat it look like you had the driver seat all the way forward. If you have it in a regular position do you have any legroom at all in the back?

I love the new look. Took a minute for me to get on board- but in person, it looks SOLID. However, that starter battery in the back side- gonna be annoying if a drawer system is put in. I loved my ARB drawers. Solid video - and great first impressions at the end.
