I just started watching you yesterday.Wow!Your work is amazing! I had a close friend pass and her funeral was Monday. I took some of the flowers from the arrangements to try and press them for me and other friends. Some how I found your video an totally got inspired. I purchased some resin and a silicone heart shape cupcake mold. i hope these flowers work so I can give them to some of her other close friends.I did try the microwave drying and it was okay until I saw the 3d peony today. Well you guessed it, tomorrow back to hobby lobby for the silica gel. They had it marked down too. If these come out beautiful,I have you to thank and I'm sure my friends will be so grateful to receive a beautiful memorabilia of our friend. TY and many Blessings!

Aww! I’m so sorry for your loss. That’s such a beautiful idea though! If you’re working with peonies, I would definitely suggesting drying them in silica gel. Idk if it's ever been mentioned. But you should look into trying like a sand sifter, like you'd use at the beach, on the silica. Like put that at the bottom then the silica. That way when you go to grab the flowers, all you have to do is grab that and soft them out. Less possible breakage?
@arin6479

This is genius! You can even tie strings to the sifter to get it out if the tub is deep like the one in this vid so you don’t disturb any petals

I stumbled onto you and boy, no, I mean girl , am I delighted. I have been wanting to try resin casting for years and now I will soon. I think this piece is amazing. Just enough of everything. Simple . elegant. The clearness....... you succeeded perfectly... I am in love with this beautiful work of art you created. Thank you for sharing. You are a very sweet special person , that is very clear as well!. I especially the the 3 D effect looking from the side.. WOW! My friend make spheres out of wine barrel hoops and wagon wheels. It would look amazing hanging in the center so you could see all sides as well as give it a frame of a sort.. If you would like I can send you a pic of what I sort of am talking about. One artsy madwoman to another. The glitter was just perfect and you can see it in your video. I am thinking its probably 10 x more incredible live . Question, Do you torch it every time you do a layer? I did not see that? Most videos I have seen , they do ?
