I am 64 now. Back in the 90's when I still had all of my hair, I did my own undercut and did my own twists in exactly this style. Until I got dreadlocks with undercut later. I might have been ahead of my time when I was in my 30's? Most were wearing Gumbies back then.

Always detangle from end to root! It’ll make it much easier for you to detangle your hair, and reduce breakage. Also, try using something like a denman brush or a tangle teezer to make your life easier when you’re detangling.

@@ramanman9792 I wouldn’t recommend detangling when your hair is completely soaked, only because your strands can stretch and snap. If you need to detangle when wet, use something like a pre-poo or anything that will give you a lot of slip. I use African Pride’s pre-poo and go from end to root with a tangle teezer for thick hair.

@Family van Rensburg Really the only thing you can do is make sure you're retaining length . If you style your hair in twists, flat twisting could help to mask the length disparity! Beyond that, make sure your hair is moisturized and that you still trim away split ends, etc.
