To be fair, the trailer does not do justice to the movie. This movie is amazing. Sushant Singh Rajput has done a commendable job in the movie. PS: love your reaction videos. :)

It's a mind blowing film. It was way ahead of it's time so it is not so popular in India. But, you MUST watch it because it is a gem. You should also react to it's trailer 1. Trailer has the thrilling aspect of the film.

It's a great movie.. very underrated.. that's why many wouldn't have seen it.. so may be u won't be getting so many request to watch it.. but I can issure you will love this movie.. the direction, acting, set design of the 1945 era all are done with excellence.. I don't know how many request you would get to review it but I am gonna say just take a leap of faith and watch it if you can..

Character Byomkesh Bakshy (Bom kay-sh Buck-shee) is actually based on a novel. But the story line of movie is completely different. There was a TV series aired on Doordarshan channel in 90's. It was a massive hit. You should read about that too. Byomkesh was a local detective who did not use any fancy technique but common sense to solve cases.

This is one of India's finest cinematic masterpiece 🙏

This movie is based on a very old TV series Byomkesh Bakshi which was totally inspired by Sherlock Holmes. I remember as a kid my father and I used to watch it, in the early 2000s I guess. We used to watch a lot of detective shows back then. This movie did justice to that show and that show's writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay did justice to their inspiration Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes. You probably could find that show too somewhere I believe, it shows early 90s India, Kolkata basically and the show was fun to watch, even today it'll look as good I think. Although the show was totally inspired by Sherlock, it has a main villain like Professor Moriarty and a best friend like Dr. Watson but the cases were all unique in the show as far as I can remember. Good movie, I'd recommend watching the show too, it was back when censorship wasn't an issue. There was one disturbing thing though, it showed a very underage kid smoking a cigarette. But the show was really really good so was the movie.

Byomkesh Bakshi is a Indian version of Sherlock Holmes written in early 1930's. The stories were made into a series in 1980s. This movie is more of a tribute rather than a faithful representation of any of the original stories. It is more like Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

Every Byomkesh Bakshi story is amazing.

This is one of my favorite movies .. a slick and stylized movie ... I fell in Love with it when i watched it first time in theater. Disappointing with its failure at box office. I feel this is coming of age movie for Indian audience. I assume Rick might like this movie.

In this flim basically ,it's setup during world war 2 where the enemy is a type of a drug smuggler who also wants the Japanese to get into Calcutta and capture it ,so that they could get the freedom from Brits,but Byomkesh stops them as the Japanese could enter Calcutta a make them a base ,from where they could operate ,which would have made Calcutta more vulnerable,
