He didn’t take into account that Nancy needed a lot more time to trust him so much. Hastening someone not to trust your own rhythm and telling your most secret things can only lead to disaster in any relationship.

that is exactly whats happening, Ace and Nancy arn't going to act on their feelings anytime soon writers have confirmed its highly likely theyll have the detective with nancy next season while Ace stays loyal to Amanda

Ya the show does seem to have this weird trend where all her love interests (that aren’t like her main romantic interests like Nick and Ace) are most definitely older then her by quite a margin

@@gacha_vee6983 Sorry I'm replying just now, I don't get notification replies in youtube so I didn't know that you had replied to me! I agree with you too, I honestly don't mean to shit on anyone's ship and I respect other people's opinions but the idea of Nancy and Ace as a ship seemed (still does) so effing random to me as well. I don't even remember them getting that close to the point of evoking romantic potential or any other type of chemistry (other than friends I mean) between their characters. To this day, I still genuinely believe that the only reason the writers are putting them together/see them as more than friends is because the audience wants them together and that's not me being bitter because I don't ship them, lots of shows put two characters together because the fans started shipping them or they started with another ship only to switch things up and pair them with another character again, because that's what appealed most to the fans. I actually remember reading that in an article once back in season 1 that they indeed hadn't thought of Ace as a love interest for Nancy at the beginning so yeah, safe to say that the audience might've influenced their decision. Look this show is great it has good writing, compelling storylines, interesting characters, creative mysteries etc but the romance aspect of it is a mess because in my opinion George and Nick do not fit as a couple at all either but anyway that's another topic, back to Nancy and Ace I just don't see anything between them, at least not what most of the audience sees or even what the writers themselves want me to see. I can't even imagine them kiss or do any sort of romantic thing together, I'm sorry but I'm just not feeling it. And if we were to talk about past lovers/potential love interests for them separately, Nancy was a hell of a lot better with Owen and as for Ace - and this is totally an unpopular opinion - I liked his crush on Bess, it was cute and sweet and I liked the way he so firmly but respectfully expressed his feelings and still stayed by her side and supported her when she made it clear that there wouldn't ever be a chance of them becoming something more.. it was kinda a bummer that she turned out to be gay because I could definitely see that going somewhere instead of what they're doing with Nancy. I also think that he had more chemistry with Tiffany's sister. What can I say, the third season already premiered a while ago and they've had yet another dreamscape experience with Nancy and Ace and the fans are getting more and more vocal every day so from now on I guess I'll just try to focus more on the story and the show as a whole instead of the ships!!
