Detention Officers play an important role in public safety by maintaining the care, custody, and control of every inmate in our custody housed within our five facilities.
As we celebrate #NationalCorrectionalOfficersWeek, Officer Contreras takes you along her shift at the Watkins Jail, giving you a sneak peek of what being a #DetentionOfficer is all about.

I'm not calling any of these cons Mr. or incarcerated individual, it's going to be inmate. Why do a count with a clipboard in hand with inmates moving around and on your back? It should be an official count with inmates in the same area without talking.

99% certain this is the officer i tried to annoy by singing incessantly in the holding cell outside of T33. But I'm not completely sure. They all look the same.

I was in watkins jail, the no pillow rule is just to torture inmates. There is no other reason other than to make sleeping very difficult. And its not "chow" in the mornings, its a foul piece of bread, and soy peanut butter.
