How does Nephelometery helps by measuring the scattered light, like what is the use after measuring the light Scattered??

Source of light is passed through the water sample and intensity of light passed and absorbed is nothing but the Turbidity. If suspended solids are present in the sample large intensity of light will not follow the straight path it gets scattered. Hence amount of light scattered is nothing but turbidity.
