I currently bag a Hex, Detour and Uplink but I could probably just go with the Detour and Uplink. I love hyzer flips and understable discs in general. I am 100% loving the stock Detour. I also have a Paradox but that thing turns too hard for me to control reliably. I still love the Hex but the Detour is straighter for me. Thanks for another great review!

Thanks for the vid! I've been throwing the Uplink and Detour since they came out in the gyro boxes and finally settled on the Detour. If anyone was thinking about bagging one of them (for me there's no point in bagging both) it would mainly depend on how much you put on a disc. Too much spin on the uplink and you get a massive flip/easy mid roller, but the same spin speed on Detour is pretty workable. Low spin with a Detour and it will fly like a hex, but higher spin will give it that great late fade for a higher shot, or that slick "S" turn hyzer flip point A to point B shot. I also bag the glow Paradox for slow speed super glide turnovers since my shoulder doesn't accept sidearm shots anymore. The glow Paradox is actually usable, whereas I found the neutron paradox to be kind of a joke disc. I also bag a prism pyro and a fission hex. Fills out my mid slots nicely!

FWIW, I bag Reactor > Hex > Detour > Uplink (and just added the Pyro for the opposite shot shape…). I think your take is pretty spot on. I’m a little slower arm speed than you, but mostly use the Uplink for steeper hyzer flip to turn shots where I release it on about 15-20° of hyzer angle to get it pushing pretty straight until it hits the turnover attitude and just drifts right - fun shot to throw. The Detour I can release on a little baby anny and get early flight turn and drift, and it’ll come back to straight to slight fade right at the end. The Reactor and Hex gives me the expected shapes for those discs, while my new Pyro is a meat hook if I release on hyzer but pushes really straight and far until a healthy hook fade at the end. Really enjoying where I’ve gotten to in learning the nuances of these discs.

Those are all great discs. MVP’s midrange lineup is excellent. I haven’t thrown the Reactor yet but Ive heard a lot of good things about it.

Looking forward to tring these at altitude (colorado). Decent arm speed (340 to 370 driver distance) but everything is so much more stable here. Picked up a rollo... its unusable except at 50% power but i think the paradox will be fine to get that consistent right flight

I think there’s generally going to be two kinds of people: Those who throw Hex/Uplink, and those who throw Detour/Paradox. For the first group, if you throw flat and/or ~375ft+ then you can work the Hex well and the Uplink will fill that under stable slot because the Paradox will be too flippy. For the second, players like myself (I max at about 300ft) or who hyper release, should really be throwing the Detour. It excels at straight shots on hyzer or can be a straight shooter for the noodle arms when thrown flat. Those same people will find the Paradox to be workable. I guess there could be a third group of beginners who might throw the Uplink for their main mid (like your wife). Bottom line: I love the Hex. But the Detour is what many Ams like myself should REALLY be throwing 90% of the time

Well said! MVP’s done a great job diversifying their lineup. It feels like they have a midrange for every shot shape and arm speed.

@@FlyingFajitaDiscGolf they really do! They are killing the putter and mid game. The Detour was that final piece of the puzzle. Like I said, LOVE the Hex, but so many people were throwing Fission Hex or waiting to beat a Eclipse in so they’d have one that would turn when thrown 250ft. The Detour is that disc out of the box now. I agree 💯 with you when you said it was closer to the Hex than the Uplink.

I have all 4 and bag a Hex, Detour and Uplink. I actually would go with the Detour and Uplink if I had to pick just two of them. Guess I'm a middle of the road kind of guy. :)

Currently bagging an uplink, detour, reactor, pyro combo. I think the detour is more useful than the hex. Also Rihanna is an icon.

Paradox will never leave my bag, at least once a round I'm in a spot where I need it to save me. I've never thrown an uplink, but I love my Detour. It slots in nicely with my hex

I have a question , unrelated. How would you say the stability/flight of the Neutron/Fission Rythm is compared to the Sarah hokum neutron crave? (assuming you have used the latter)

Good question! I actually did a review of the Neutron Hokom Crave a few months ago. The Neutron Rhythm is noticeably more understable. I consider the Crave to be slightly understable, Neutron Rhythm understable, and 165g Fission Rhythm very understable. There’s room for each in the bag.

Yeah I think the Crave and Rhythm are great compliments to one another. But if the Crave is pretty beat up then there might be some overlap until the Rhythm beats in a bit

@@matthewcummings7705 hex is good for a little wind. Buuuuuut I was literally thinking same thing last night going through my bad I have 3 hex’s and 1 detour. Might go get me another today to have backup
