Right suburban gun violence, drugs, crimes are so much better. Have you never seen a true crime documentary, the news? And the country life is just as bad in its own way. In coal miners towns corporations force people off their own land and work them in carcinogenic conditions. You're acting like it's Russia in the woods people freezing starving.

I've personally worked in those areas (construction) and it's not much different during daylight hours either. I've thought about how and why it's like that. 1) Music genre that promotes a life that's not productive. 2) Drugs, most of which are illegal. 3) Government hand outs that are easily obtained. 4) Having multiple children whom are looked at as tax deductions. 5) No parenting skills at all that go on from generation to generation. 6) Not a lick of common decency to anyone. 7) Easily offended to which they have no idea how to handle without a stolen firearm. 7) Court systems that are far beyond pathetic. 8) Failure to want a change in lifestyle. 9) Zero accountability. There's more but I think I've made my point clear. I'm probably going to get some flack back on this but it's how I see it. I have talked to many who live in those areas that are hard working and maintain their house and property very well but unfortunately they are far outnumbered by people who are like the video shows. One little old lady I spoke to in Ecorse a few years back was raised in the same house I was working next too. She was in her mid 80's. Her yard looked amazing. She cried saying how it hurts to see her neighborhood run down like it is. Sad. Very sad.

I left the jungle called Detroit in 1984. It was savage then, uncivilized, and I see it has not improved at all. My family was there for over 100 years but none of us are left there now, we've all moved on to more civilized places (Northern California in my case). I will NEVER go back not even to visit. I see that it is still a dark uncivilized jungle. Too bad for the decent minority that is trapped there.

I've been to that gas station a couple of times. As of a couple years ago, there was what looked to be a bullet hole in the glass at the front counter. Strange as it sounds, it's the station up the road a mile or so that REALLY gave me the willies when I stopped there a couple of times. Nervous looking guys trying to sell phones, aggressive panhandlers and police cars constantly eyeing the place. If you have to drive through John R road between McNichols (6 Mile) and Baseline (8 Mile), it's best to fill up BEFORE you go....!

What became of "No shoes, no shirt, no service."? It was better times when they were tired from working in the fields or building cars. It's a shame they have nothing to do and hang around all night. AI will make their perspectives worse and they will become more government dependant.
