I might be wrong or naive but Tom Brady admits to being a game manager, Jared Goff QB as opposed to being a gunslinger, Matt Stafford QB. I prefer the game manager, strategic thinking QB.

@@HakeemTheDream616 Thats complete BS, the Lions took Stafford his last 3 years here, who has a god arm talent and made him a poor mans RPO Aaron Rodgers-type QB which made him below average. The worst thing you could say about stafford is he has/had consistency issues but the lions organization mismanaged the hell out of him his last few years here.

This is exactly what I have been saying since they went 8-2. The next step in Goff’s development is that he WILL be calling the plays at the line of scrimmage. Goff did this throughout 2023…… just nobody realized it. That’s why I kept saying like TB12, like Elway, like Marino. People see the “flash” of Mahomes and others, meanwhile Goff is just plain getting it done. Making those tight window throws. Pros who know football, know Goff is playing at an elite level. They know Goff collaborated in developing this offense. He is the master of his domain. The players in that locker room know. Pro’s know…. He puts the ball where it needs to be. That’s why Ben and others keep coming back. This is special. Some think Jared making perfect throws with his eyes closed was a gimmick, a trick. QB’s develop their skills, Jared is at the top of his game. What do you haters think Jared was talking about last year when in a presser he mention he and Ragnow calling protections, blocking, etcetera as the walked to the line and saw what the D was doing…… they are HIM

I've been saying this: there's so much method to this madness and it all adds up to dynasty. Built by good, hard-working DAWGS in Holmes, Campbell, Spielman... That attract similar DAWGS in the coaching staff, and draft good, hard-working, DAWGS. Plus a culture of openness and honesty with ultimate grit. This thing ain't breaking down anytime soon.

@@hotsauce879 QBs are not equal when it comes to dealing with pressure. Thats ridiculous. If you need to see it in numbers, last year's top rated qb was behind the no 23 line in terms of pass pro. If you don't know that Goff gets flustered under pressure you're just not watching games, though if your only watching lions (and not rams) you've got a blind spot because the Lions do a great job protecting him most of the time. Thats the whole point.

Goff had a ton of success in LA. Brady didn't have that freedom at QB for a long time. Brady also had a great defense and defensive minded head coach. In the playoffs, the defense makes the difference.

Throwing for an astronomical 13,400 yards & 88 TD's in the playoffs is what makes the difference pal .. Brady has thrown for +300 yards in the playoffs 18 times. For context Manning is 2nd at 9 times. That's like Brady finishing a marathon and Manning is running 2nd in the race and he's only at mile 13 Bill Belichick and his defense without Brady in 130 games where Brady isn't his QB *.438 Win%* You figure out the math .

@larrysimmons926

Early in Stafford's years with the Lions the team bought in several QB coaches specifically to work on three areas of Stafford's mechanics: 1. To stop his tendency to have "happy feet" as he released the ball. 2. To look the defender away from where he intended to throw the ball. 3. To control his emotions so he wouldn't throw an interception under pressure. Jared Goff doesn't have to be as good as Stafford. But, more importantly, Goff already possesses the foundational skill sets, and Goff has the emotional stability and grounding and he has the ability to "read defenses." Goff can manage the skilled position players, that the Stafford trade made possible, on the field of play to extract the best possible outcome from each series of downs.

Hilarious that people were questioning if TB would be good at breaking down the game in the booth. Olsen was great the last few years, but c'mon, his football knowledge is jv compared to Brady. He'll be the best analyst in the booth before the end of the year. Just wonder how long it'll take before he gets the itch to come back.

@@joshlewis575 maybe for you. If you haven't noticed, nfl media doesn't do much analysis. It's all personality and opinion driven narratives. I don't see the personality in Brady to thrive in that world but who knows - he's got a lot of fans and is smart and can form complete sentences, so he's got a leg up on most of them.

You let the tom brady clip go for four minutes and twenty-three seconds and he had nothing to say about the Lions. Instead of filling time with other shows irrelevant content you should develop your own cutting and insightful things to say. You could have easily said, "Tom Brady brought up how having the same core players and staff really drove the Patriots to their Dynasty success, are the Lions closer to that level than we give them credit for," and immediately gotten to the point.

As a Lions fan, I agree he's putting the cart I have the horse a bit😅.. he definitely could've worded this differently.. HOWEVER ,what I get out of this clip is that he's excited that the Lions possess all the qualities to become a potential Great (Superbowl) WINNING team!.. that's what gets him excited.. you take that and then you add up a simple logic of improving every season under this regime with this cohesive unit.. then you come up with the answer of winning a Superbowl.. I get, you can understand it..

The Patriots were a paradigm shift. They won by doing their job. They played situational, smart football with exceptional red zone defense and an offense that never put the team behind the 8 ball. None of the players were self-serving distractions, it was always about the team. TB and Bill led the culture and everyone fell in line, their leadership was next-level. The Lions are a paradigm shift as well. They're about getting gritty, athletic, intelligent, versatile football players that put the team first. They're ultra-intentional in who they draft and acquire. Led by a group of individuals who exemplify the words grit and intelligence in Dan Campbell, Brad Holmes, Chris Spielman, and Sheila Ford Hamp. Leadership is found all over the locker room in ARSB, Anzalone, Goff, Sewell, Decker, Montgomery, and the list goes on. The common thread in both is they prioritize character, intelligence, and grit over everything, never allowing self-serving distractions to become club house cancer and having bonified leaders everywhere in the locker room and coaching staff. Like the Patriots, the Lions aren't going anywhere for years to come. There's way too much method to their madness for this to be a short lived success.
