You reviewed everything but the cheese! The cheese is a big part of why Detroit style pizza is so good. It’s usually a blend of 2-4 cheeses instead of just bland mozzarella. So many reviewers never mention the cheese 🤣 💙🙏🏻💙

Only fake American mozzarella is bland. Real Mozzarella is the king of soft milk cheeses. No offense but why is gluttony such a huge part of the American food psyche?

@@gavcom4060to call it bland is not the right word imo. Fresh and real mozzarella is made with buffalo milk, which is extremely flavorful, sort of like feta cheese but not the same. Cow mozzarella is called fior di latte and is mild, but still flavorful. When I came to the US I noticed mozzarella here is not the same at all, so perhaps I can't blame too much.

Buddy's here in Detroit is the original deep dish pizza started in the late forties. From my understanding they use a Wisconsin brick cheese that's extremely creamy and delicious.😋

Detroit Style is like that. The cheese is a specialty called Wisconsin Brick Cheddar. If they aren't using it, it isn't Detroit official. It also pulls so well and melts so nicely.

Im from Detroit and im glad our style is gaining more popularity. It's Americanized- Sicilian style. so if you like Detroit style make sure you try an authentic Sicilian square pizza at least once.

Buddys Gus Guerra created it and left Buddys to open Cloverleaf. Imo Cloverleaf is better than Buddys but both are great and there are other great options in the city as well.
