This is why I love video games, and immersive sims in particular. Telling story with environment, dictating mood with ambient score and sound design, and, most of all, enabling the consumer of the medium absolute freedom of where to go, what to observe, and how long to observe it. I love film and view video games as the next evolution of film when it comes to this sort of thing. Film is an amusement park ride, with you seated and gated and experiencing the view. Games are a safari, and you have an offroad vehicle, a motorbike, and a backpack with a lunch and a camera, and as much time as you want to explore.

Quitting smoking today. The thing that I am gonna miss the most is sitting by the table with an open window and the candles lit, smoking slowly and drinking whiskey to this and many other Deus Ex HR/MD ambience. Jensen's Apartment is so sick! Would love to live in it. The design, the ground plan and the interior is just nice. But it just needs one or two more rooms. :P

I have such a love for Deus Ex with its deep thoughts, amazing prophetic atmosphere and moral dilemmas that makes us ask questions ourselves. As tough as Adam is, as badass as he is, I feel so sad for him. He holds so much in, he questions himself about how much human he is. He can't even smoke cigarettes and cough in pain without his augmented lungs or heart kicking in to heal him first. Such a triviality must is very heartbreaking for him. And the only one, to ever make him feel the least bit of human, was an A.I that had a bug in her code to where she "felt" sorry for what she did. It was probably the most human conversation in this game when it came to feelings, especially now since it seems like she merged her consciousness with one of the Hyrion Subjects encased in that god-awful machine I think. I don't say this about video game characters at all, given I separate fantasy from reality, but my heart hurts so much when he speaks of his pain he tries to hide. Maybe its because I relate to him in that regard, I don't know, but I hope that one day, should a future game ever gets made, that he gets the happy ending he deserves.

Sometimes I play Deus Ex only to walk around cities and feel the atmosphere. Is so so special, is a feeling that I cannot explain, it feel so strange, because I feel a mix of emotions just like Anxiety, loneliness, nostalgia, curiosity... IDK how explain it. Sometimes I walk through Praga in Mankind Divided, or walk through Detroit in Human Revolution, and read the papers and book chapters of someone else. Is a fantastic mix of sensations that make me feel out of this world. Im gratefull to know that I am not the only one who feel in the same way ❤

I don't think there will ever be music and sounds in video games like the sounds and music in the deus ex games.

People don't appreciate a good game. They prefer shitty COD instead of good games like this. And as a result, we won't get another :( The music in Deus Ex is magnificent, soul searching.
