Can you be both a believer and a pacifist? In His Law, God anticipated that the Israelites would need to form an army to defend themselves against their enemies. In Deuteronomy 20-21, we learn that wars, like every other part of life, should be brought under the spiritual control of the Lord, and we also study other laws about crime, marriage, and children.
This teaching is from our series 05 Deuteronomy - 2015 with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Albuquerque.

Why does everyone seem to skip Deuteronomy 22 verse 22 -28 Especially among Jewish men. It seems to always be the woman who is accused and punished.

The scripture clearly states that, "Both of them shall die." Deut, 22:22. I cant answer a "Why" Q. But the Scriptures are not blaming women here but both parties.

If you read Deuteronomy Chapter 21 verse 10 "Captured Women". Is this raped.

Thanks for trying to made forced slavery, genocide, and rape seem acceptable in God's eyes. What a glorious deity we are forced to serve under threat of eternal torture.

Pacifism & "god" telling Moses in Deut. 7:2 & Deut. 20:17 to commit genocide are two different things. "God" could have told them to form an army to defend themselves but genocide in those verses was uncalled for. It is similar to Islam in that respect. Both Islam & Christianity teach that Jesus is going to come back to Earth one day & slaughter all unbelievers (genocide) found within Christianity in Rev. 19:11-18 with an angel calling the birds of the air to come & feast on the multitude of dead bodies.

not true about Islam. In Islam Jesus will come back and fight only the anti-Christ. All other people will believe in him at first sight as a returning mighty messenger from God
