Such a rotten bit of luck, winning a free car only to enjoy it for half an hour then have the headache of dealing with insurance. Premiums will surely go up too. Maybe it’s a sign that Volvo will serve him right I’m sure.

No makes it worse because he had to lose his excess aswell as his insurance paying for it all

bang on, my mrs was hit by an uninsured truck 5 years ago, lost all no claims, sent her renewal through the roof and still gets punished for it years on, not only the financial it caused her massive PTSD as the crash was pretty close call to life, an absolute disgrace don't even think the truck driver got so much as a slap on the wrist for it all. another "welcome to backwards Britain" @@harrycordiner-barton6878

Will cost him more as the insurance won't be able to claim the damages from an external party hence the costs will be from his insurance. Shame!

@@shahid6184 same situation with my mum had uninsured driver write off her old car. That was the case however when referred to the MIB they took that into account and reimbursed any costs and reinstated her no claims bonus due to accident being no fault of her own and other driver being uninsured

If the other driver was uninsured it’ll cost even more, how do you think his insurance company will claim the money back? It’s the worst case scenario, getting hit by bellend with no insurance

@@richardlahiff1529 Rich, I know you're gutted about this. However, I learned through these small things that life works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, and just sometimes, life throws these curveballs at you, only because it's to save you. I've had times when I got caught up with something, I made by time back 90% but guess what, something occurred where If i was there exactly at the time I was supposed to be, I would not be here today writing this. So instead of looking at this as "why me" or "just another thing to pile on to the crap already", your life might have been spared. Look at that from a positive note, you never know what was waiting for you had you not been hit buddy. You're a good man, it will all be alright. There is a saying I like that was once said, "when you're favored by God, you're also favored by the devil"
