Devastating few days 😟 what is going on!?

All was well, and then, boom!
Just like that things changed and what followed was a devastating gloomy week.
One to forget for sure but one with learning to take away.

Gutted 😞 Flukes have been a real menace this season so far. I lost a Kujaku a couple of weeks ago. Exactly the same. Not a mark. 😢

Strange isn't it, mines a closed system so can't blame birds etc either. I'd me amazed if the fluke was to blame but I did find them. The gills had a lot of necrosis so maybe gill type infection/disease as well.

Sorry about your loss Keith. On The scrap you showed us both flukes we’re 100% skin flukes, which I think is slightly better than having gill flukes. Keep your chin up 👍

I’ve had same problem I’m cleaning my 210 every day it’s just starting to regrow on pond sides ,lost a show fish same problem with gills 40cm ,

When you PP your pond did you put on plenty of oxygen as mabe your fish were sufocated. Did you check the gills of the other two fish you lost and what condition were they in.

Like the first fish seemingly in good health going by the skin etc They was dead so I didn't do scrapes.

Oh no, poor fish ...thats not good. So sorry you have issues. Re the PP ..my pond is 6400lt and I use no more than 9gm. Now Ive got issues with my Ph. Its always been around 7.4 - 7.7 and now its showing about 8.4. We have had rain for 12hr straight in Salford..and more tomorrow. You have to keep going and hopefully turn it around.

A lot of people have been having the pH rise thing. I had it a few weeks ago. My pond sits at 8.2 but it was up around 9.0. It seemed to sort itself out, but God knows what caused it.

@@mucky1957. It was dark purple. It's back to normal now. Someone mentioned that it's to do with Severn Trent and the supply at the time, but I'm not sure. I think because my pH is high anyway, they coped with it better. That being said, they weren't happy.

The koi in there are doing great 👍 I'm being positive and taking it as losing the weak. 10 grams per 1000 gallon I stuck too on the 2nd dose and all come through with no issues

@@andreashessler838 my Ph is currently back down to 7.4 which is exactly where it is supposed to be..although it has heavily rained here for 36hr so it may well be a false reading..

Sorry to see the troubles you've been having Keith😫 gutted for you. Fluke don't kill like that, you need to have a real bad infestation for them to do major damage to overwhelm the fish enough to cause death, and most certainly the fish would look in real bad condition if it ever got to that stage. It's a strange one for sure. In regards to the Kactoily, the ORP on them isn't accurate whatsoever, 100%. I've mentioned it a few times, test solution is a must for Redox meters if you are going to use one otherwise you just don't know the true accuracy of the test equipment, I'd 100% recommend investing in some and then you can confirm that your stick meter is accurate too, especially if using it to dose Potassium. 600mV is really high though I must admit, usually you'd only need somewhere between 450-500 to kill parasites, anything above 550 starts getting into dodgy territory where there's possibility of causing long term damage and complete wipeout of filter bacteria. I use the hanna 240mV test solution which is for platinum and gold probes and I'd highly recommend it👍 So sorry about your mum buddy, thoughts are with you at a tough time. Keep your chin up and try stay positive😊 I'd love to come see you sometime to chew the fat👌👍

Hi, thanks. I got a couple of sachet of orp calibration powder so will do them both. Yeah I find it hard to believe fluke would do that considering how healthy it looked but the fluke made me react. The remainder have been treated and looking good so far. Definitely meet up sometime. Cheers

Terrible mate . Koi keeping is nuts this year crazy . I've lost two of my best fish and another one looks in trouble. Same as you a kahaku and it doesn't look like there anything wrong I've acriflavine in now . I'm loosing hope pond keeping
