Aww, i bet this horse is related to "Trash" another reining horse of swedish reining horse breeder youtuber named Malin Melin... Trash is from a Texas breeder, as most of her horses, and she is the only Swedish futurity champion or whatever its called. Shes into reining horses like you are. This horse looks exactly like her horse Trash...hes an old goofball, but that white face and blue eyes, theyre so.striking.. i wonder if related...i find all the lines wirh quarter horses so interesting, but espcially the training! And Tim, i think youre the best ive seen.❤ i learn the most here on your channel. Love how and what you do. Absolute perfection❤

This horse is buy Hollywood Cool Gun which was by Gunner (Colonels Smoking Gun). Gunner and Trashadeus had similar markings but were not related close up. They were also very different in their personality also. I've heard many stories from Bill Horn about when he was training Trashadeus. Gunner was trained by Clint Haverty who I also spend some time riding with. So far GG is riding like a typical Gunner. I'm looking forward to getting her in the show pen. Thank you for the interactions on my page. Great for good conversations.

I love how patient you are and how fast she caught on. I rode decades ago when there were like three basic colors and then some fancy colors. Things have changed these days. Would she technically be a dun with white splash? Originally I was thinking Palomino, but then I saw the line down her back, so I wasn't sure.

Tim do you think she will be easier to train to things like subtle rider weight shifts/body positions because of her hearing? Perfect Reiner ❤ I could make a good argument for that as she probably relies more on her other senses just like other mammals.

It's going to depend on what you are looking to do with your horse. Some horses bred to do certain things and typically than horses bred for other things. For instance if you were to show reining horses you will probably be riding in a untypical riding position.
@lydiagould3090
@lydiagould3090 Ай бұрын
With a slightly lazy horse, would you train this the same way? My horse maintains the circle nicely but she doesn't look for the spin and get the release yet. It's all new to both of us. Do you have some Patreon videos on teaching me and her to learn?
@timandersonhorsetraining
@timandersonhorsetraining Ай бұрын
It is much harder with a lazy horse because you have to maintain forward and steering. You will have to develope the forward before you ask for much step over.

@@Channelinterrupted I had no intention of finding anything wrong with this particular horse, and love that Tim finds the good in every horse he trains, bringing out the best they can be. Tim brought up the issue of deafness in the Gunner line, and I simply felt saddened to learn of the trait. Long ago, I lost a lovely mare who was of the Impressive line. It was before that trait was fully understood.

I love your videos Tim. The breeding of horses with the significant defect of deafness is very irresponsible in my mind. Just being honest.
@timandersonhorsetraining
@timandersonhorsetraining Ай бұрын
You should not confuse significant to you with significant to the horse.The horse is in not danger, there are no future health issues, the horse does not know what it can not hear. Deaf is nothing like HYPP or other similar health issues that cause pain or death. Deaf is not significant to the horse.

Just because a horse is partially deaf doesn't mean it doesn't have mostly otherwise great qualities worth reproducing ... Say, some humans are short,or have some type of genetic joint issues, but otherwise have a lot of other really outstanding qualities , including great parenting, why would that human not procreate.... Apply this to any animal or breed ..minus the parenting, but obviously some animals are horrible parents too....anyway, every animal and every human has negative genetic traits, all, doesn't mean it's not an outstanding creature otherwise. If nobody or no animal reproduced because of a negative trait, everyone and everything would go extinct. . If it doesn't bother the horse, and it's not feral. It doesn't matter.
@art-is-lazy4509

Hmm, it's irresponsible to breed a line of horses that carry deafness genes.
@timandersonhorsetraining
@timandersonhorsetraining Ай бұрын
Why? They are not ferral horses. They do not rely on their senses to survive. If you spent time around them you would see they interact just like any other horse. You should have some knowledge about how they behave, act, and thrive before you form an uneducated opinion.
@tracyjohnson5023

@@timandersonhorsetrainingTim is it mainly line bred Gunners? Like HERDA in some cow bred lines? Do they have a genetic test yet for deafness gene? Just curious thanks.
@timandersonhorsetraining
@timandersonhorsetraining Ай бұрын
I don't know if there is it not. I'm suspect they can probably test for it, they can test for most anything. The difference between death and other genetic defects like HERDA and HYPP is those are not easily visible like death and they eventually will lead to serious health conditions later. Horses that are death generally don't have any other connected health issues and are great horses otherwise. A death horse is really a non-issue.
